Abstract

This research was motivated by the researcher's discovery that the mother character experienced a lot of inner conflict, which caused her mental disturbance. Inner conflict can be derived from the problems experienced by the mother character with other characters which ultimately have an impact on the way the mother character thinks and acts. The aim of this research is to explore the inner conflict of the mother character in the novel Ibuku (Not) Gila by Anggie D. Widowati from the perspective of Kurt Lewin's psychoanalysis. This research is a qualitative descriptive type using a literary psychology approach. The data collection technique used in this research is a documentary study technique. The documentary study technique was carried out by examining the novel Ibuku (No) Gila by Anggie D. Widowati, making it easier for researchers to connect it with the problems and objectives of the research. Researchers searched for and grouped quotes related to Kurt Lewin's inner conflict theory. Meanwhile, the data collection tool used in this research is the researcher himself as an instrument in the research. In this research, data cards are used to record the data to be analyzed, to make it easier for researchers to classify data according to the type of data. Apart from that, the tools used to collect data were pencils, pens, books, the novel My Mother (Not) Crazy by Anggie D. Widowati, and paper-bound sticky notes

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the inner conflict experienced by Kurt, the character "Aku" in the short story Sebuah Hari, Kamu Akan Mengerti by Raisa Kamila. This study uses a literary psychology approach to understand the inner dynamics of the main character, especially the internal conflict reflected in behavior, dialogue, and narrative. The research data in the form of short story texts were analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods to reveal aspects of inner conflict including the conflict between hopes, fears, and reality faced by Kurt. The results of the study indicate that Kurt's inner conflict arises due to feelings of being pressured by social expectations, past trauma, and longing for acceptance. Kurt experiences a dilemma between his desire to express his identity and his fear of rejection from his surroundings. In addition, the narrative of the short story describes how Kurt's inner struggle regarding his personal relationships with those closest to him influences important decisions in his life. This inner conflict culminates in an introspective dialogue that describes Kurt's desire to make peace with himself. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konflik batin yang dialami oleh Kurt, tokoh "Aku" dalam cerpen Suatu Hari, Kamu Akan Mengerti karya Raisa Kamila. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan psikologi sastra untuk memahami dinamika batin tokoh utama, khususnya konflik internal yang tercermin dalam perilaku, dialog, dan narasi. Data penelitian berupa teks cerpen yang dianalisis dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif untuk mengungkap aspek-aspek konflik batin yang meliputi pertentangan antara harapan, ketakutan, dan kenyataan yang dihadapi oleh Kurt. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konflik batin Kurt muncul akibat perasaan tertekan oleh ekspektasi sosial, trauma masa lalu, dan kerinduan terhadap penerimaan. Kurt mengalami dilema antara keinginannya untuk mengekspresikan jati diri dan ketakutannya akan penolakan dari lingkungan sekitar. Selain itu, narasi cerpen menggambarkan bagaimana pergulatan batin Kurt terkait hubungan personalnya dengan orang-orang terdekat memengaruhi keputusan-keputusan penting dalam hidupnya. Konflik batin ini memuncak pada dialog introspektif yang menggambarkan keinginan Kurt untuk berdamai dengan dirinya sendiri
