Abstract

The cell group is an important forum in the formation of the congregation in a church. Through this community, the congregation can be more accessible because the scope of the cell group is smaller. The need for a cell group’s community is also felt by believers who come from the Sundanese tribe and live around Mount Puntang. It is for this reason that our team decided to facilitate a cell community forum for the Sundanese tribe, most of them are from Mount Puntang.

Abstract

Amid a pluralistic Indonesian society in terms of religion, interfaith marriage has the potential to occur. But until now, interfaith marriage is still being debated among Christians. The Apostle Paul in 1 Cor 7:12-16 states the prohibition to divorce unbelieving spouses. The research aims to explore the meaning of the prohibition on divorcing non-believing spouses and its relevance to Christians in Indonesia. The method used is a qualitative approach to literature study. The results of the study show that: 1) Paul's prohibition on divorcing unbelieving spouses is due to the belief that the process of sanctification of unbelieving partners can occur in marriage; 2) concerning marriage, the main thing is the creation of peace; 3) Paul's teachings are very relevant to be applied among Christians in Indonesia in the form of acceptance of interfaith marriages, which can also be seen as part of the realization of peace.

Abstract

In the journey of marriage, challenges serve as tests for the commitments uttered in the sacred vow before God. Despite Christianity's rejection of divorce, the reality reveals cases of marital dissolution. This research employs a qualitative literature review approach, delving into Biblical verses to address the ethical concerns surrounding divorce in the context of Christian values. The study explores whether individuals who have experienced divorce can remain active in church service, illustrating diverse perspectives within the Christian community. The research focuses on providing solution-oriented views to facilitate recovery and support for those undergoing divorce while upholding Christian ethical norms. Marriage is not merely a formality but a sacred calling to complement one another, grounded in loyalty and affection. The integrity of marriage is sustained through adherence to Biblical teachings and the example set by Jesus Christ, perceived as a calling to make a positive impact on couples and society.
