Abstract

Pesona pantai, budaya, dan hasil laut di Desa Lebih menjadi potensi dalam pengembangan pariwisata berbasis alam, budaya, dan kuliner. Namun, desa ini masih menghadapi tantangan dalam hal tata kelola, keterbatasan infrastruktur, serta partisipasi masyarakat, khususnya perempuan. Untuk menjawab tantangan tersebut, kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilakukan dengan pendekatan pemberdayaan melalui integrasi konsep Desa Ramah Perempuan dan Peduli Anak (DRPPA) ke dalam tata kelola desa wisata. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas masyarakat, khususnya perempuan, dalam pengelolaan desa wisata yang inklusif dan berkelanjutan. Metode yang digunakan meliputi observasi lapangan, sosialisasi, pelatihan tata kelola wisata berbasis gender, serta pelatihan dasar Bahasa Inggris. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta yang signifikan, ditunjukkan dengan peroleh nilai rata-rata pada pre-tes sebesar 85,30 dan peningkatan nilai rata-rata pada post-tes sebesar 92,35. Hasil kegiatan berharap melalui kegiatan ini dapat terbentuk tim inisiatif desa wisata ramah perempuan, munculnya ide pengembangan produk wisata berbasis kearifan lokal, serta meningkatnya keterlibatan perempuan dalam kegiatan perencanaan dan promosi desa wisata. Produk inovasi yang dihasilkan mencakup buku saku tata kelola wisata, media edukasi visual, serta masukan akan kebijakan desa berbasis gender. Kegiatan ini membuktikan bahwa pendekatan partisipatif dan responsif gender dapat memperkuat tata kelola pariwisata desa secara inklusif dan mendorong pembangunan yang berkelanjutan pada desa wisata.

Abstract

AbstractThis study investigated the types of assimilation that occur in children’s connected speech in selected “HiHo Kids” videos. Descriptive qualitative method was applied in this study. The source of the data were six videos from “HiHo Kids” YouTube channel, particularly the ones from the section of “Kids Try” that were uploaded in September to November 2019. The data collection process involves watching and transcribing the videos manually. Two research instruments, namely the official website of Oxford Learner’s Dictionary (https://oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com) and IPA transcription website (https://ipa.typeit.org/), were used for this study, in order to check the correct pronunciation of North American (NAmE) accent, as well as typing the phonetic symbols. In terms of data analysis, the researchers identified the findings based on the theories of assimilation types by Roach (1998) and Crystal (2008). The results revealed that regressive assimilation is the most prevalent type that occurs in children’s connected speech in the selected videos, though progressive and coalescent assimilation also occur in certain cases.Keywords: assimilation, children’s connected speech, HiHo Kids videos Abstrak Studi ini menyelidiki jenis asimilasi yang terjadi pada ujaran terhubung anak-anak dalam video "HiHo Kids". Metode deskriptif kualitatif diterapkan dalam penelitian ini. Sumber datanya adalah enam video dari channel YouTube “HiHo Kids”, khususnya dari bagian “Kids Try” yang diunggah pada September hingga November 2019. Proses pengumpulan data meliputi menonton dan mentranskripsikan video tersebut secara manual. Dua instrumen penelitian, yaitu situs resmi Oxford Learner's Dictionary (https://oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com) dan situs transkripsi IPA (https://ipa.typeit.org/), digunakan untuk penelitian ini, guna memeriksa kebenarannya. pengucapan aksen Amerika Utara (NAmE), serta mengetik symbol fonetik. Dalam hal analisis data, peneliti mengidentifikasi temuan berdasarkan teori tipe asimilasi menurut Roach (1998) dan Crystal (2008). Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa asimilasi regresif adalah jenis yang paling umum terjadi pada ujaran terhubung anak-anak di video yang dipilih, meskipun asimilasi progresif dan penggabungan juga terjadi dalam kasus tertentu.Kata kunci: asimilasi, percakapan anak-anak, video HiHo Kids

Abstract

This study examines the features and functions of women's language used by female characters in the film Elemental. The research is based on Lakoff’s (2004) framework on women's language features and Pearson’s (1985) theory on language functions. Using documentation and note-taking methods, the research analyzes the frequency of women’s language features in the characters’ speech. The analysis identified eight features of women’s language: lexical hedges or fillers, empty adjectives, intensifiers, hypercorrect grammar, super-polite forms, avoidance of strong swear words, rising intonation, and emphatic stress, with lexical hedges or fillers appearing most frequently. Four language functions were also found. The lexical hedges helped initiate discussions and express feelings, while intensifiers, emphatic stress, and empty adjectives conveyed emotions. Hypercorrect grammar, super polite forms, and avoiding strong swear words functioned to soften speech. These findings indicate that women’s language in Elemental is predominantly used for emotional expression and interaction politeness, suggesting that the film constructs its female characters through linguistic patterns traditionally associated with feminity. This representation reflects how media discourse can reproduce conventional gendered communication norms, positioning women as emotionally expressive and socially attentive speakers, and thus contributes to broader discussion about how popular media shapes and reinforces gender representation through language.
