Abstract

Crime is a shadow of human civilization that follows the dynamics of human life which today is increasing both in quantity and quality caused by various factors that require appropriate prevention efforts, one of which is by empowering community members in Environmental Security Unit activities as a form of self-initiative security carried out voluntarily by the community. But in fact, the community still does not know and understand well the urgency of the Environmental Security Unit in preventing crime, so it is important to carry out community service activities in the form of legal counseling on crime prevention efforts through the Environmental Security Unit. The target of community service activities in the form of counseling is people living in Cimuning Village, Mustika Jaya District, Bekasi City. The implementation of community service activities generally consists of the preparation stage, implementation stage, evaluation stage, and reporting of the output of activities. The results of this community service activity, First, that the activity ran smoothly which was attended by community members in Cimuning Village enthusiastically. Second, that the activities have increased knowledge and understanding to community members about crime prevention efforts through the Environmental Security Unit.

Abstract

Era globalisasi yang diikuti perkembangan teknologi salah satunya media sosial selain memberikan manfaat bagi masyarakat, juga dapat membawa dampak negatif apabila penggunaannya tidak sesuai ketentuan hukum, di mana dewasa ini sering terjadi penggunaan media sosial yang tidak sesuai etika dan ketentuan hukum sehingga menjadi penting untuk melakukan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dalam bentuk penyuluhan hukum tentang membangun kesadaran hukum masyarakat dalam menggunakan media sosial. Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah masyarakat yang tinggal di Kelurahan Mustika Jaya, Kecamatan Mustika Jaya, Kota Bekasi. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini secara garis besar terdiri dari tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan, tahap evaluasi, dan tahap pelaporan hasil luaran kegiatan. Hasil kegiatan ini, Pertama, secara umum kegiatan ini berjalan dengan tertib dan lancar sesuai dengan rencana yang telah dibuat oleh Tim Pelaksana tanpa ada kendala yang berarti. Kedua, kegiatan ini telah memberikan pengetahuan dan pemahaman kepada masyarakat di Kelurahan Mustika Jaya, Kecamatan Mustika Jaya, Kota Bekasi tentang etika dan ketentuan hukum dalam menggunakan media sosial sehingga dapat meningkatkan kesadaran hukum masyarakat dalam menggunakan media sosial dan terhindar dari perbuatan yang bertentangan dengan hukum.

Abstract

Security is one of the important factors in human life because with a sense of security, everyone can carry out their daily activities without fear of threats to their souls, bodies and property. However, in reality, the community has not fully realized that security is the responsibility of all components of society and is not only the duty and responsibility of the police as a state tool in the field of security, so the active participation of the community in self-defense is very necessary. This research is normative-empirical legal research with a legislative approach, a case approach and a conceptual approach to answer the problems raised. The results of the research are, First, the provisions on self-defense according to positive law in Indonesia are regulated in Law Number 2 of 2002 concerning the National Police, and further provisions are regulated in Police Regulation Number 4 of 2020 concerning Self-Defense which is the legal basis for the duties and roles of forms of self-defense in Indonesia, including the Security Unit and the Environmental Security Unit. Second, the implementation of self-defense based on community participation and technology in the Taman Duren Sawit Housing Complex, East Jakarta, which is the location of this research, has been carried out by the Security Unit Officers and involves the participation of community members in mobile patrol activities as well as the use of technology devices such as CCTV cameras and WhatsApp and Telegram digital applications for communication, information sharing and reporting on security situations in their neighborhoods each so that it can facilitate and increase the efficiency of the security system
