Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to design a student dormitory in Tojo Una-Una, Gorontalo, that meets the needs and reflects the unique identity of the Tojo Una-Una region through a hybrid architectural approach. The method used is systematic design with data collection through field surveys, interviews with managers, and analysis of the physical and environmental conditions of the site. The design process is dynamic, using a feedback method to adjust the design to changes that occur. The results of the study show that the current student dormitory is still in the form of rented houses with inefficient infrastructure management. This has an impact on the quality of the site environment, such as limited land, inadequate space, chaotic access, and a lack of supporting facilities such as parking lots and canteens. These conditions have led many students from Tojo Una-Una to prefer living in rented rooms or public housing. Therefore, the dormitory design developed in this study is expected to provide a concrete solution to these issues while contributing significantly to the development of architectural theory and practice, particularly in the context of designing functional student housing facilities rooted in local values in the city of Gorontalo.

Abstract

This study aims to apply and analyze the Line of Balance (LoB) method for scheduling the construction of 20 type 36/108 houses in the Graha Alam Sutra Housing Complex, Hutuo Village, Limboto District, Gorontalo Regency. The research questions include the technical application of the LoB method and the evaluation of project scheduling results after implementing the method. Research data includes the S-curve, Cost Estimate Plan (CEP), network planning, and field data. The LoB method is applied through the development of a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), activity logic diagram, and LoB graph for one house unit, which is then scaled up to 20 units simultaneously and linearly. Adjustments were made to the RAB, S-curve, and work sequence to prevent conflicts (crosses) between activities. The research results show that the LoB method successfully identified the project's critical path, minimized time deviations, and improved work rotation efficiency and field supervision. The project was completed in 110 calendar days with balanced work distribution across weeks. In conclusion, the LoB method proved effective for large-scale housing construction projects, producing a more structured, efficient, and easily monitored schedule compared to conventional methods.

Abstract

Gorontalo City is an area wich with numerous relics from the colonial period. As a witness to the city’s long history, it possesses many cultural heritage assets, including heritage objects, cultural structures, and heritage buildings. This community service project aims to cultivate a sense of awareness, ownership, and an understanding of the significant value of this cultural heritage. To achieve this, educational effort focused on introducing the cultural heritage site in the Old Town area of Gorontalo are essential, particulary targeting the younger generation. The partners in this activity were the students and teachers of State Senior High School (SMA Negeri) 3 Gorontalo. The program was carried out in several stages: observation, material preparation, and the implementation of socialization sessions. Through this community service program, it is expected to foster awareness and concern among the youth of Gorontalo to safeguard and preserve their historical legacy and cultural identity.
