Abstract

Renewable energy systems require effective and efficient power control for men-optimizing electricity production. One of the power control technologies used in renewable energy systems is DC Chopper. DC Chopper is an electronic device used to control the voltage and electric current in the DC system. In this study, the development of DC Chopper as a power controller in the renewable energy system was discussed. This research is to introduce the use of DC Chopper as a power controller in the renewable energy system and to the effect of the use of DC Chopper on the production of the new system. This research is the method of using a delay experiment to test DC Chopper on the solar panel system. The results showed that the use of DC Chopper PANA solar panel system can increase the efficiency of electricity production level 20%. In addition, Chopper DC Rona can increase the reliability and age of the renewable energy system because it can reduce the burden on the system.

Abstract

The electricity distribution network is the backbone of energy supply from power plants to consumers. One important component of the distribution network is the arrester, which serves to protect equipment from sudden voltage surges, such as those caused by lightning strikes. Arresters are designed to withstand overvoltage and protect transformers and other sensitive components from damage. This research uses a case study method with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through interviews with technicians involved in network maintenance and field inspections of the condition of arresters in the distribution network of PT. PLN (Persero) UP3 Cikupa. The research findings indicate that several arresters in the distribution network of PT. PLN (Persero) UP3 Cikupa receive voltages that do not meet technical specifications, leading to voltage leakage. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that regular replacement of arresters is necessary to maintain the reliability of the electricity distribution network. Voltage leakage caused by discrepancies between incoming voltage and the technical specifications of the arresters has the potential to cause damage to network equipment, particularly transformers.

Abstract

Peningkatan kebutuhan energi listrik di masyarakat menuntut adanya solusi alternatif yang ramah lingkungan dan berkelanjutan. Energi fosil yang selama ini menjadi sumber utama pembangkit listrik memiliki dampak negatif terhadap lingkungan. Salah satu solusi yang dapat diterapkan secara langsung di lingkungan perdesaan adalah pemanfaatan energi surya sebagai sumber energi penerangan jalan umum (PJU). Kegiatan ini merupakan bentuk Proyek Mandiri oleh mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Vokasional Teknik Elektro berupa pemasangan tiga unit PJU tenaga surya di Desa Cibarani, Kecamatan Cisata, Kabupaten Pandeglang. Tahapan kegiatan meliputi survei lokasi, sosialisasi kepada warga, edukasi tentang manfaat dan cara perawatan PJU tenaga surya, serta pelaksanaan instalasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa PJU telah berfungsi secara optimal dan memberikan manfaat langsung dalam menunjang aktivitas masyarakat, khususnya pada malam hari, serta meningkatkan kesadaran warga akan pentingnya energi terbarukan.
