Abstract

This research aims to provide insight and inspiration for educators, curriculum developers and other stakeholders in enriching students' educational experiences through the integration of Indigenous Knowledge in the independent curriculum. An independent curriculum refers to an approach that places students as active subjects in the learning process. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation. Testing the validity of data in qualitative research uses triangulation, while data analysis uses data reduction, data display or data presentation, and conclusion. The research results of this research are; (1) adapting the curriculum to the vision of the institution, (2) developing learning materials and resources, (3) training and support for teachers with an independent curriculum development model based on the Integration of Indigenous Knowledge (indigenous knowledge) using the Beauchamp model with steps to respect cultural diversity, determining curriculum coverage, determining the parties involved, formulating the objectives, implementation and implementation of the curriculum and evaluation.

Abstract

The Lagoon Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) area is a hotel waste management installation located in the Nusa Dua tourism area in the southern part of Bali that is surrounded by mangrove forests. This installation consists of five main ponds, pond 2B and 3 filled with tilapia fish as bioindicators, which attrach various types of birds to this area to forage or other activities. This study aims to determine the species and activities as well as the bird diversity index in the Lagoon area. This research was conducted from January to February 2022. Observations were conducted in the morning and afternoon with six counting points. The bird species encountered were recorded using the ten species recording method. Species identification were based on Mackinnon (2010). The tools used in this study were binoculars, a DSLR camera with a 70-300 mm lens and a Mackinnon field guide. The data obtained were analyzed using Microsoft excel. In this area, 45 species of birds were found with 6 protected species. Bird activities observed in this area include flying, preening, collecting nesting materials and foraging. Foraging activities were the most observed activity in the Lagoon Area. The bird diversity index at the Lagoon ITDC Nusa Dua area is 3.10977 which indicated high diversity, the distribution index is 0.81 which can be said to be almost evenly distributed and the dominance index is 0.087066 which indicate there is no dominant species in the area. The highest percentage of canopy use was observed on the forest floor or stems at 32.01%, and the lowest at 15.10% in the lower canopy.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of management training in the implementation of character education (Panca Adab) based on eastern culture in junior high schools. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, this research involves students, teachers, and the school as subjects. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation analysis, with data analysis carried out through reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawn. The findings of the study revealed that thoroughly and systematically implemented training succeeded in improving students' understanding of character values, involvement in school activities, and the application of ethical norms in daily life. The program showed positive results in motivating students and improving their academic and social performance, with an emphasis on adapting to feedback and changing needs. The implications of these results suggest that this character education program is effective in shaping students' character and strengthening their relationships within the school community, making it a potential model for similar programs in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the literacy of Namira Middle School students in Probolinggo City. The scope includes: (1) implementation of literacy activities for class VII students at SMP Namira Probolinggo City, (2) utilization of literacy for class VII students in supporting Indonesian language learning in class. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach, the subjects of this research are students, especially class VII, and the object of this research is the literacy of Namira Middle School students, Probolinggo City. Existing data in this study using the method of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study describe: (1) the implementation of literacy activities for class VII students of Namira Middle School, Probolinggo City. The implementation of student literacy at school is quite smooth which is carried out on Tuesdays and Thursdays in particular. On the other hand, researchers correlate it with The Big Six theory, (2) the use of literacy in class VII students in supporting Indonesian language learning in class. The favorite reading books for students are literature books. In this case, students have taken advantage of literacy by learning in class, especially Indonesian language material.
