Abstract

ABSTRACT The school curriculum in Indonesia continues to change, and these changes are fundamentally helpful in improving the quality of education. In the 2013 curriculum implemented in SD/MI, Indonesia does not have English classes, but this does not mean that English classes are banned in schools. Schools are still allowed to hold English classes as part of their after-school programs. This is a good reason why SDN Jampang 04 does not include English in its curriculum. Based on that foundation, Unusia KKN 2023 Group 3 organizes regular English teaching/teaching every Saturday from 8 am to 11 am WIB for 6th grade students using interactive approaches such as lectures, role play and discussion. Based on the results of observations during the teaching process and interviews with the school, it can be seen that students' interest in learning English is increasing. The school is also considering bringing English back into the curriculum but still lacks teachers. Keywords: English, Elementary School (SD), education.
