Abstract

The application of learning methods is still lacking so most students may feel bored and unmotivated during lessons because learning methods have not been applied properly. In addition, the limited use of media in the learning process causes students' lack of understanding of what they are learning and students' activeness is not seen during the learning process. The purpose of this article is to determine the effectiveness of educational games. Many people use media as an additional tool for learning due to technological advances that occur in the current era of globalization. The use of media in learning aims to make the educational game method effective in increasing student engagement and cooperation in elementary schools. In addition, the use of media makes it easier for teachers to convey material and make students better understand what they are learning. Therefore, teachers must ensure that the materials and media used are appropriate. This article will discuss the use of game-laden interactive multimedia in learning in elementary school. It will also analyze the participation and cooperation of students in primary schools as well as the factors that influence the application of game-laden interactive methods in the learning process.

Abstract

Effective shift scheduling is an important element in human resource management at K3 Mart, Lapangan Merdeka, Medan, which operates for 24 hours. Challenges such as uneven shift distribution, disproportionate work schedules, and errors due to manual scheduling can reduce productivity, increase employee fatigue, and trigger internal conflicts. This research aims to optimize shift scheduling using the Integer Linear Programming (ILP) method. Primary data from employee interviews is used to build a mathematical model. The model is designed to minimize the number of workers in one scheduling period, while still considering constraints such as minimum employee requirements per shift, fair shift rotation, and a balanced distribution of days off. Model processing is done using Dev-C++ software, resulting in an optimal schedule that can meet operational needs without causing conflicts or labor shortages. The results show that the ILP method is able to produce an efficient, fair, and productivity-enhancing schedule, while maintaining workload balance and employee health. In addition, this method is flexible to adjust to changing operational needs. Implementation of this method in the retail sector can improve operational efficiency and employee welfare, with regular evaluation and updates to ensure its sustainability.

Abstract

Abstract

he Community Service Program (KKN) is increasingly positioned as a strategic service-learning model for community empowerment and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the village level. Through a collaborative and sustainable approach, service-learning integrates education, community service, and measurable impacts across social, economic, environmental, and civic dimensions. This study describes the multidimensional implementation of KKN in Beringin Village, which included social education, economic empowerment (dishwashing soap training and the introduction of branding and marketing for MSMEs), environmental programs, strengthening religious moderation and youth engagement, as well as support for digital village data governance and activity documentation. A descriptive-participatory method was applied through observation, focus group discussions, demonstrations, and field documentation. Initial findings indicate improvements in literacy regarding bullying prevention in partner schools, enhanced basic entrepreneurial skills among household and MSME actors, and the adoption of environmentally friendly practices through biopore infiltration holes for organic waste management and water conservation. These findings are consistent with studies published in SINTA journals, which highlight the effectiveness of branding training and biopore adoption. From a governance perspective, the thematic KKN model serves as a platform for student–citizen collaboration and strengthening village networks. This article formulates a replication strategy involving village asset mapping, designing an integrated service-learning curriculum, applying simple and realistic impact measurements, and planning sustainability beyond the KKN period.
