Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the improvement in student team performance through the implementation of coaching. The research was carried out at SMK Negeri 1 Purwojati, Banyumas Regency with all OSIS coaches and extracurricular coaches using qualitative research methods based on phenomenon research. Data sources were obtained from observations, interviews and literature review. The data analysis technique begins by describing the results of observations of the initial conditions of the student team's performance before implementing coaching, complemented by analysis of interview results and analysis of related literature reviews to draw conclusions from the research results. The research results showed that 54% of student teams felt the benefits of implementing coaching to improve their performance, 27% of student teams did not feel the difference before and after implementing coaching and 19% of student teams did not know that coaching was implemented. Coaching is an alternative in overcoming the problem of low performance of the student team at SMK Negeri 1 Purwojati which still has a high dependence on the leader or deputy principal for student affairs, practices one-way communication, and carries out its duties only as a routine activity. Through the implementation of coaching, changes can be seen in the performance of the student team which can be seen in the practice of two-way communication, creativity and innovation in carrying out their duties, and dependence on the leader or deputy principal is starting to decrease. From the research results, it can be concluded that the implementation of coaching brings positive changes to the performance of student teams. By increasing the performance of the student team, it is hoped that service to students can be improved in achieving the goals of the student affairs sector to develop interests, talents, academic and non-academic achievements and the formation of student character. ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan kinerja tim kesiswaan melalui penerapan coaching. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMK negeri 1 Purwojati Kabupaten Banyumas kepada semua pembina OSIS dan pembina ektrakurikuler dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif berdasarkan pada penelitian fenomena. Sumber data didapatkan dari pengamatan, wawancara dan kajian pustaka. Teknik analisis data dimulai dengan mendeskripsikan hasil pengamatan kondisi awal kinerja tim kesiswaan sebelum penerapan coaching, dilengkapi dengan analisis hasil wawancara dan analisis kajian pustaka yang berkaitan untuk mengambil kesimpulan hasil penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 54% tim kesiswaan merasakan manfaat penerapan coaching untuk meningkatkan kinerjanya, 27% tim kesiswaan belum merasakan perbedaan sebelum dan setelah penerapan coaching dan 19% tim kesiswaan tidak tahu adanya penerapan coaching. Coaching menjadi salah satu alternatif dalam mengatasi permasalahan rendahnya kinerja tim kesiswaan di SMK Negeri 1 Purwojati yang masih mempunyai ketergantungan yang tinggi kepada pemimpin atau wakil kepala sekolah bidang kesiswaan, mempraktikkan komunikasi satu arah, dan melaksanakan tugasnya hanya sebagai kegiatan rutin saja. Melalui penerapan coaching terlihat perubahan dalam kinerja tim kesiswaan yang terlihat pada praktik komunikasi dua arah, Kreativitas dan inovasi dalam melaksanakan tugasnya, ketergantungan kepada pemimpin atau wakil kepala sekolah yang mulai berkurang. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan coaching membawa perubahan positif pada kinerja tim kesiswaan. Dengan meningkatnya kinerja tim kesiswaan, diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pelayanan kepada peserta didik dalam mencapai tujuan bidang kesiswaan untuk mengembangkan minat bakat, prestasi baik akademik maupun non akademik dan pembentukan karakater peserta didik.
