Abstract

Kiai leadership patterns are very important in Islamic boarding school education. The life and death of an Islamic boarding school depends on the Kiai's teaching patterns that are practiced at the Islamic boarding school. Here, Islamic boarding school educational leaders are expected to be able to stimulate the formation of a dynamic learning community. This research aims to analyze the impact of leadership policies implemented by kiai in Islamic boarding schools on teacher welfare. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data was obtained through in-depth interviews with kiai, teachers and related stakeholders, as well as direct observation at several Islamic boarding schools which were the focus of the research. The analysis was carried out using content analysis techniques to identify the leadership policies implemented and their impact on teacher welfare. It is hoped that the findings of this research will provide a deeper understanding of the role of kiai in improving the welfare of teachers in Islamic boarding schools. ABSTRAKPola kepemimpinan Kiai sangat penting dalam pendidikan pesantren. Hidup matinya suatu pondok pesantren tergantung pada pola pengajaran Kiai yang diamalkan di pondok pesantren tersebut. Di sini, pimpinan pendidikan pesantren diharapkan mampu merangsang terbentuknya komunitas belajar yang dinamis Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak kebijakan kepemimpinan yang diterapkan oleh kiai di pondok pesantren terhadap kesejahteraan guru. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam dengan kiai, guru, dan stakeholder terkait, serta observasi langsung di beberapa pondok pesantren yang menjadi fokus penelitian. Analisis dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik content analysis untuk mengidentifikasi kebijakan kepemimpinan yang diterapkan dan dampaknya terhadap kesejahteraan guru. Temuan penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang peran kiai dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan guru di pondok pesantren.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) in the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0, focusing on its opportunities, challenges, and adaptive strategies. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis in selected madrasahs and Islamic higher education institutions in Banten Province. The results show that digital transformation opens vast opportunities for interactive, student-centered, and technology-integrated learning in IRE. However, teachers still face challenges related to limited digital literacy, unequal infrastructure, and the risk of declining spiritual interaction between educators and learners. The study finds that institutions have developed adaptive strategies, including digital literacy training, the integration of Islamic values into technology-based curricula, and the adoption of hybrid learning models that combine technological innovation with spiritual guidance. The findings highlight that the success of IRE in the digital era depends not only on mastering technology but also on maintaining the spiritual and ethical foundations of Islamic pedagogy. Therefore, this study proposes a model of value-based digital transformation, positioning technology as an instrument (wasilah) to strengthen, rather than replace, the moral mission of Islamic education.

Abstract

Diniyah education, as an important part of the education system in Muslim-majority countries, is the focus of policies to improve formal education and strengthen religious values. This article presents an overview of the history, role and evolution of early education policy. Through integration into the national education system, early education contributes to the understanding of religion, morality and religious identity. The implications of this policy are also seen in improving the quality of formal education and strengthening religious values ??and morality in society. Although there are challenges in implementation, supporting diniyah education initiatives is important for building a society based on religious values. ABSTRAKPendidikan diniyah, sebagai bagian penting dari sistem pendidikan di negara-negara dengan mayoritas Muslim, menjadi fokus kebijakan untuk meningkatkan pendidikan formal dan memperkuat nilai-nilai keagamaan. Artikel ini menyajikan tinjauan tentang sejarah, peran, dan evolusi kebijakan pendidikan diniyah. Melalui integrasi dalam sistem pendidikan nasional, pendidikan diniyah memberikan kontribusi pada pemahaman agama, moralitas, dan identitas keagamaan. Implikasi kebijakan ini juga terlihat dalam peningkatan kualitas pendidikan formal serta penguatan nilai-nilai keagamaan dan moralitas di masyarakat. Meskipun ada tantangan dalam implementasi, mendukung inisiatif pendidikan diniyah penting untuk membangun masyarakat yang berlandaskan pada nilai-nilai keagamaan.

Abstract

This research discusses the elements that influence the strategic management of school principals in improving Islamic character education, by involving the roles of various parties, both external and internal. To identify aspects of strategic management that support the formation of student character, a synthesis was carried out using the PRISMA method based on the keywords "management", "strategic", "education", "character", and "principal" in several databases such as Wiley, Mendeley, SagePub, Scopus, PubMed, Eric, Psycinfo, Asha, and Web of Science. Of the remaining 71 sources and 29 different journals, 20 articles were eligible for final review. The results show that the development of Islamic character education requires the involvement of various external and internal parties. Strategic management in the development of human resources, including teachers, is considered important to maintain the quality and effectiveness of Islamic education, with a focus on optimal organizational structures, dynamic managerial capabilities, sustainable long-term goal achievement, and responsive feedback. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini membahas elemen-elemen yang memengaruhi manajemen strategi kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan pendidikan karakter Islam, dengan melibatkan peran berbagai pihak baik eksternal maupun internal. Untuk mengidentifikasi aspek-aspek manajemen strategis yang mendukung pembentukan karakter siswa, dilakukan sintesis menggunakan metode PRISMA berdasarkan kata kunci "manajemen", "strategik", "pendidikan", "karakter", dan "kepala sekolah" pada beberapa database seperti Wiley, Mendeley, SagePub, Scopus, PubMed, Eric, Psycinfo, Asha, dan Web of Science. Dari 71 sumber yang tersisa dan 29 jurnal berbeda, 20 artikel memenuhi syarat untuk ulasan akhir. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan pendidikan karakter Islam memerlukan keterlibatan berbagai pihak eksternal dan internal. Manajemen strategi dalam pengembangan sumber daya manusia, termasuk guru, dianggap penting untuk mempertahankan kualitas dan efektivitas pendidikan Islam, dengan fokus pada struktur organisasi yang optimal, kemampuan manajerial yang dinamis, pencapaian tujuan jangka panjang yang berkelanjutan, dan umpan balik yang responsif.
