Abstract

AbstractThis research intends to investigate the influence of infrastructure development realized with Physical DAK in improving the quality of life of the community as expressed through the Human Development Index (HDI) with capital expenditure as a mediating variable in 34 provinces in Indonesia. The study makes use of the Fixed Effect Model, Path Coefficient Analysis Test, Sobel Test, and Least Squares Dummy Variable (LSDV) Analysis Method. Panel data covering three years, from 2020 to 2022, in 34 Indonesian provinces was the source of the data used. The study's findings indicated that (1) Physical DAK significantly and favorably affects capital expenditures. (2) Physical DAK has a positive and negligible impact on life quality, but capital expenditures have a positive and considerable impact on community well-being. (3) Physical DAK on HDI through Capital Expenditures has a major and indirect impact.

Abstract

AbstractInclusive economic development is a target that Indonesia must achieve in realizing social welfare. To achieve this target, synergy must be carried out through various mutually supporting factors, namely democracy, environmental quality, gender equality, and investment. The existence of these factors has a strong influence on encouraging the realization of inclusiveness in development. This research aims to analyze the existence of democracy, environmental quality, gender inequality, and investment in inclusive economic development. The research method used was Least Squares Dummy Variable (LSDV) with a sample of 34 provinces in Indonesia in 2018-2022. The results of this study show that the presence of democracy and investment influence inclusive economic development in a significantly positive way. This means that environmental quality and gender inequality affect inclusive economic development in a significant negative way. The influence exerted by democracy, environmental quality, gender inequality, and investment of 83.54% on inclusive economic development and sustainability of 16.46% is influenced by other components not in the research model.JEL Classification: J16, P48, O11Keywords: Democracy, Environment, Gender Equality, Investment, Inclusive Economy

Abstract

The role of the creative economy and tourism as one of the economic catalysts encourages the realization of inclusive development in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the existence of a creative economy and tourism workforce, the wages/salaries of the creative economy and tourism workforce and domestic tourists, and the inclusive economic development. This research method uses quantitative statistical analysis with the Least Squares Dummy Variable (LSDV) technique. The research has sample of 34 provinces in Indonesia in 2018-2021. The results indicate that the rate of the creative economy and tourism labor, and the rate of tourism labor wages/salaries affect inclusive economic development positively and significantly. Meanwhile, the rate of domestic tourists and the wage/salary rate of creative economy labor affect inclusive economic development positively and insignificantly. This research implies that government and community involvement is needed to create a sustainable creative economy and tourism through various efforts, such as ecotourism, technology development, and policy realization, to increase innovation and creativity in this sector.

Abstract

Poverty is a social problem hindering a country's economic progress. This problem has spread widely and is increasingly complex throughout Indonesia, especially in Java Island, which has the fastest population growth and slow socio-economic development due to ongoing poverty. This research investigates the factors that influence poverty on Java Island in 2022. Using cross-section data from 119 districts/cities in Java Island and multiple linear regression analysis, this research measures poverty through the human development index, open unemployment rate, and minimum wage. The research results show that the open unemployment rate does not significantly affect poverty. In contrast, the human development index and regency/city minimum wages significantly negatively affect poverty. These findings suggest that improving human development in education, health, and decent living conditions is essential. In addition, the government needs to increase efforts in each region to tackle poverty effectively.

Abstract

Climate change vulnerability is the phenomenon of the extent to which a system of both humans and the natural environment is vulnerable or has the potential to experience negative impacts due to climate change. This research tries to see how food security is affected by climate change vulnerability and the aspects that develop in it. Multiple linear regression using the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) model and cross-sectional data for 2023 in 38 districts and cities in East Java with composite index calculation is the research approach used to estimate the climate change vulnerability index and its forming dimensions. Food security is significantly impacted by climate change vulnerability, according to the findings, with the adaptive capacity dimension having a positive influence and the ecological and human sensitivity dimensions having negative consequences.  Nearly one-third of the total effect was attributed to the strong influence of adaptive capacity.  This study indicates that susceptibility to climate change presents a significant risk to regional stability, which needs to be addressed and avoided by cooperation between local communities, the corporate sector, and government agencies.  The implementation of sustainable farming methods, the shift to renewable energy, and the development of adaptive capability are all necessary to guarantee the supply of high-quality resources.
