Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji nilai budaya pada tradisi pepongoten suku Gayo dengan kajian antropolinguistik. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah antropolinguistik, yang menganalisis makna dan nilai budaya pada tradisi lisan pepongoten. Metode analisis data yang digunakan peneliti adalah metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang mendeskripsikan data berupa hasil wawancara, rekam dan catatan.Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode cakap dengan teknik pancing dan teknik cakap semuka, yang dilanjutkan dengan teknik rekam dan catat. Teknik menganalisis data yang digunakan adalah reduksi, penyajian data, dan kemudian penarikan kesimpulan. Dari hasil penelitian, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa terdapat 29 data yang ditemukan oleh penulis, yang mengandung makna menasehati dan makna pengharapan didalamnya. Hasil dari 29 data nilai budaya pada pepongoten yang meliputi nilai religi terdapat 2 data, nilai kesopansantunan terdapat 5 data, nilai kesetiakawanan sosial terdapat 3 data, kerukunan terdapat 2 data, komitmen terdapat 2 data, pikiran positif terdapat 4 data, rasa syukur terdapat 2 data, kerja keras terdapat 2 data, disiplin terdapat 2 data, pendidikan terdapat 1 data, kesehatan terdapat 2 data, gotong royong terdapat 1 data, dan pengelolaan gender terdapat 1 data yang sebelumnya sudah diartikan dan dimaknai terlebih dahulu.

Abstract

This research focuses on developing a teaching module for poetry material with a contextual approach in the Independent Curriculum for class X students at SMK N 1 Percut Sei Tuan for the 2022/2023 academic year. The results of the author's interviews with several students at SMKN 1 Percut Sei Tuan show that students lack confidence in learning to write poetry, and students are even less interested in poetry material. This is proven by the level of student learning focus, namely only 40% of all students are focused during the teaching and learning process. Apart from that, the lack of references for vocabulary and ideas that will be expressed when learning to write poetry is also one of the obstacles experienced by students. The researcher took research samples from three classes, namely TKJ 1 with 32 students, TKJ 2 with 32 students, and TKJ 3 with 32 students, so the total sample was 96 people. The type of research carried out in this research uses the research and development (RnD) method. The validation results from material experts and design experts on the teaching materials developed show the "feasible" category. The feasibility percentage can be detailed in the form of material expert validation results, a percentage of 98%. Validation from design experts obtained a percentage of 83% which was categorized as very feasible.

Abstract

This study aims to: 1) develop material for writing descriptive texts using a mind mapping model in Indonesian subjects; 2) analyze the feasibility of writing descriptive text material using the mind mapping model as teaching material in Indonesian language lessons in class VII junior high school. The development method used is the research and development method from Borg and Gall modified by Sugiyono with five stages. The development stages include analyzing potential and problems, collecting data, designing product development, validating, and revising products. The development was validated by two validators, namely material experts with an assessment reaching 86% included in the very feasible category, media expert validation with an assessment reaching 74% included in the feasible category. From the overall feasibility assessment of the teaching materials that have been presented, the descriptive text teaching materials using the Mind Mapping model for class VII have decent quality and can be accepted as one of the teaching materials.

Abstract

This study aims to gain a deeper understanding of the gay community, including their identity, social dynamics, and the challenges they face. In addition, this study aims to identify factors that influence public perception of the gay community and how stigma and discrimination develop. The method used is qualitative, which is a research approach that aims to understand the meaning, experience, and perspective of individuals or groups in a particular context. The data in this study were obtained from the analysis of the podcast "Close The Door" by Deddy Corbuzier which features an interview with a content creator who is part of the LGBT (gay) community. Through this analysis, the study seeks to uncover how narratives that develop in the media can influence public opinion. The results of the study are expected to provide a clearer understanding of the existence of the gay community in the social structure, as well as assist policy makers in designing regulations that are more inclusive and support diversity.

Abstract

This reseach aims to examine the critical discourse in Emina’s skincare advertisement, specifically the Sunscreen SPF 35 – Bright Glow & Acne Clear 30s, through the application of Teun A. Van Dijk’s Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) framework. Advertisements in the beauty industry often shape societal perceptions of beauty standards, influencing consumer behavior and emotional engagement. By applying Van Dijk’s model, this research examined three key dimensions: macrostructure (textual theme), superstructure (narrative structure), and microstructure (linguistic elements). This study uses a qualitative case study approach with data collected through observation and transcription of selected advertisements from YouTube. The findings revealed that the macrostructure emphasized skin protection against UV rays, promoting the product’s practicality and effectiveness. The superstructure presented a compelling narrative with orientation, complication, and reorientation stages to highlight product benefits. The microstructure analysis identified rhetorical devices such as code-switching, personification, and positive affirmations to enhance audience appeal. The study concluded that the advertisement not only marketed the product but also reinforced specific beauty ideals, linking clear, glowing skin to societal acceptance. This research provides insights into how advertisements influence youth perceptions and underscores the need for more inclusive beauty representations.
