Abstract

Fauna preservation is a crucial undertaking necessary for sustaining the survival of animal species globally. However, the issue of wildlife conservation often lacks widespread recognition, particularly among individuals aged between 13 and 28 years old, commonly referred to as Generation Z. To address this gap, the author proposes a solution utilizing Augmented Reality (AR) technology through Instagram filters to introduce fauna to the Generation Z demographic in Indonesia. Employing the Double Diamond method, consisting of four key stages (Discover, Define, Develop, and Deliver), the author aims to develop an effective solution for fauna preservation in Indonesia. The research findings indicate that Instagram filters incorporating AR technology significantly enhance the public's understanding of fauna in Indonesia. Furthermore, these filters successfully capture the attention of the public, particularly the younger generation, known for their preference for engaging and captivating content. Consequently, Instagram filters leveraging AR technology emerged as an innovative solution for fauna preservation in Indonesia.

Abstract

ABSTRAKIndonesia merupakan negara dengan keanekaragaman flora dan fauna yang terbentang dari Sabang sampai Merauke. Keanekaragaman flora dan fauna yang menakjubkan di Indonesia disebabkan karena letak geografis Indonesia yang terletak di sekitar garis khatulistiwa dan membentang di seluruh pulau-pulau di Indonesia. Selain itu, pengenalan flora dan fauna di kalangan anak-anak masih dinilai rendah karena minimnya inovasi materi. Edukasi tentang pengenalan flora dan fauna kepada anak sangat penting dilakukan untuk melestarikan keberadaan flora dan fauna di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan konsep proses pembuatan bahan ajar berupa animasi 2D dengan tema mengenalkan anak pada flora dan fauna. Dalam pembuatan animasi 2D ini, metode yang digunakan untuk memecahkan masalah tersebut adalah design thinking yang dipopulerkan oleh Kelley dan Brown. Animasi ini memperkenalkan flora dan fauna di Indonesia dan cara melestarikannya. Diharapkan dengan adanya desain kartun ini, anak-anak dapat belajar tentang keanekaragaman flora dan fauna yang ada di Indonesia untuk menumbuhkan rasa kepedulian mereka terhadap konservasi.ABSTRACTIndonesia is a country with a diversity of flora and fauna that stretches from Sabang to Merauke. The amazing diversity of flora and fauna in Indonesia is due to Indonesia's geographical position which is located around the equator and stretches across all the islands in Indonesia. In addition, the introduction of flora and fauna among children is still considered low due to the lack of material innovation. Education about the introduction of flora and fauna to children is very important to preserve the existence of flora and fauna in Indonesia. This study aims to explain the concept of the process of making teaching materials in the form of 2D animation with the theme of introducing children to flora and fauna. In making this 2D animation, the method used to solve this problem is design thinking which was popularized by Kelley and Brown. This animation introduces the flora and fauna in Indonesia and how to preserve them. It is hoped that with this cartoon design, children can learn about the diversity of flora and fauna in Indonesia to grow their awareness of conservation.
