Abstract

Background: Submandibular abscess is an inflammation accompanied by pus formation in the submandibular region. Submandibular abscess ranks the highest of all deep neck abscesses. 70-85% of cases caused by dental infections are the most common cases, the rest are caused by sialadenitis, lymphadenitis, oral wall lacerations or mandibular fractures. The aim of this study was to determine the case profile of submandibular abscess caused by undetected mandibular fracture and its treatment.Method: The research method used was descriptive observational method. Data was taken from direct observation during the procedure and secondary data came from the patient's medical record in the oral surgery department of Sultan Fatah Demak Hospital.Outcome: Based on the case report, it was found that the treatment given to the patient had high success with minimal intervention.Conclusion: Submandibular abscess on the right lower jaw has been treated with incision and drainage so that the inflammatory products of anaerobic bacteria in the submandibular space can be removed properly.

Abstract

Belum adanya indikator penilaian efektivitas pengadaan obat dan bahan medis habis pakai (BMHP) di RSU Fastabiq Sehat PKU Muhammadiyah diduga menyebabkan kekosongan beberapa obat penting, seperti obat jantung, akibat keterlambatan pembayaran dan kekosongan stok distributor. Kondisi ini berdampak pada terganggunya pelayanan pasien. Diperlukan strategi pengadaan yang lebih efektif untuk meningkatkan mutu pelayanan kefarmasian dan menjamin ketersediaan obat. Penelitian ini bertujuan menilai efektivitas pengelolaan obat pada tahap pengadaan serta menyusun strategi pengadaan yang tepat di Instalasi Farmasi rumah sakit tersebut. Metode yang digunakan adalah campuran (mixed method) dengan desain Sequential Explanatory, diawali dengan analisis laporan pengadaan tahun 2024, lalu dilanjutkan wawancara mendalam terhadap tujuh informan. Hasil menunjukkan dana tersedia telah 100%, namun alokasi untuk obat hanya 15%, dengan tingkat kesesuaian pengadaan 89%, frekuensi pengadaan 42 kali, tanpa kesalahan faktur, serta keterlambatan pembayaran 21 kali. Disimpulkan bahwa efektivitas pengelolaan pengadaan masih perlu ditingkatkan melalui penetapan jadwal pembayaran, penentuan prioritas, penguatan basis data, pengaturan frekuensi pengadaan, dan digitalisasi sistem administrasi.

Abstract

Background: Benign tumors are collections of cells, tissues or organs that grow slowly and usually enlarge with peripheral expansion, pushing on surrounding structures. Squamous odontogenic tumor (SOT) is a very rare benign epithelial intraosseous tumor, which can cause arising from the neoplastic transformation of Malassez epithelial cells on the lateral surface of the periodontal ligament. Objective : To discuss the management of odontogenic squamous tumors using conservative surgical excision. The goal of treatment for oral myxoma was surgical excision. Case management : A 51 year old female patient came to the SULTAN FATAH Hospital Polyclinic, Demak Regency on May 26 2023 with complaints of a lump on the upper left gum of the jaw. The patient felt the lump about 1 year ago. The patient does not feel pain in the lump. Clinical examination showed a lump in the upper jaw on the front of the patient's left side.Conclusion : Management of the patient undergoing surgical excision of the tumor with general anesthesia and infiltration in the case of odontogenic squamous tumor, based on subjective examination the patient complained of a lump with a tumor mass measuring 10 x 8 cm, redder than the surrounding tissue, round, not moving, attached to the gums of the upper jaw.
