Abstract

The study aims to determine the effect of awareness of business students towards cryptocurrencies and readiness of universities and colleges to accept cryptocurrencies as a medium of exchange considering the mediation of business students’ attitude. The research used partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) and deployed a questionnaire attuned to the awareness and attitudes of business students towards cryptocurrencies and readiness and compatibility of use to universities and colleges in Ilocos Norte. The output of the investigation revealed that awareness of business students are not correlated to readiness of universities and colleges which means that even though students understand cryptocurrencies, it is not an assurance that universities and colleges are ready to accept it as medium of exchange. The study proposes that trainings and seminars for business students and professionals should be conducted to expand understanding and acceptance of cryptocurrencies.

Abstract

This study is about research attitudes, anxiety, skills and culture of private higher education institutions. Universities and colleges seek to cultivate and develop students. Their primary responsibilities are to provide quality education and substantially contribute to society. Moreover, the university should have a strong research culture to attain these goals. The study participants are full-time faculty members of the institution, and descriptive statistics and partial least squares are used to analyze data. The HEI under investigation showed a positive attitude towards research because the institution encourages its faculty members to do research activities. They also have moderate competence skills and are anxious about research activities. On the other hand, the dominant research culture is constructive, and a supportive research environment characterizes it. According to the results of PLS-SEM, research skills are significantly related to research culture. Thus, the university should continuously upgrade its research skills to develop its research culture.

Abstract

This research aims to establish the relationship between the five components of engagement and the destination loyalty of 1,400 local visitors in the province of Ilocos Norte. Enthusiasm, attention, absorption, interaction, and identification were the variables of this study. The study included structural equation modeling and a questionnaire tailored to the pandemic-related alterations. The results of the inquiry demonstrated this zeal. Attention, interaction, and identification were the factors that influenced destination loyalty. Interaction has the greatest impact on a visitor's loyalty to a place; consequently, it is advised to improve this component. In addition, the report recommends that the provincial government and local tourism officials do more research to identify potential discrepancies between male and female visitor reactions.

Abstract

This research study discusses the saving, buying and spending patterns of Overseas Filipino Workers. It used quantitative research design and has 772 OFW-respondents coming from all parts of the country. The sampling design was convenience-snowball non-probability sampling design. Findings suggest that most of the respondents were female, college graduate, have 1-2 dependents and are currently working in Hong Kong. As to buying and spending preferences of OFWs, they intend to plan ahead of time what they are buying. They are responsible spenders since they know how hard it is to earn money abroad. Food, remittance and health and wellness are the major expenses of OFWS. Many OFWs also allot portion of their income to savings. One of the limitations of this study is that this research paper only considered one point in time.
