Abstract

This research aimed to assess the impact of halal certification and hygiene on the consumption levels and trust of users of Garuda Indonesia and Aerofood ACS flight services. The study utilized multiple linear regression analysis, collecting data through questionnaires distributed to a sample of 96 Garuda Indonesia flight service users. The findings revealed that while halal certification did not significantly affect the level of consumer consumption of Aerofood ACS, it did have a significant impact on consumer trust. In contrast, hygiene was found to significantly influence both consumption levels and consumer trust. These results suggest that halal certification alone does not drive consumer consumption of Aerofood ACS products. Instead, hygiene plays a critical role in both enhancing consumption and building trust. Consequently, Aerofood ACS should focus on maintaining and improving product hygiene to better meet consumer expectations and increase consumption.

Abstract

General Background: Lembaga Keuangan Mikro Syariah (LKMS) plays a crucial role in promoting inclusive finance and supporting small-scale economic empowerment within Islamic economic systems. Specific Background: Despite the growth of more than 500 LKMS in Indonesia, challenges remain regarding competition with conventional institutions, limited capital, regulatory gaps, low financial literacy, and adaptation to digitalization. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies have examined governance, literacy, and digitalization issues in LKMS, but limited research has integrated theoretical insights with practical challenges through the perspective of Prof. Dian Masyita, a leading scholar in Islamic microfinance. Aims: This study analyzes the development strategies of LKMS based on Prof. Dian Masyita’s thought, focusing on sustainability, inclusivity, and innovation. Results: Findings highlight four pillars for strengthening LKMS: community-based approaches, reinforcement of Sharia-compliant business models, product diversification, and technological utilization. LKMS is not only a financial institution but also a social agent fostering justice, transparency, and local empowerment. Novelty: The research identifies unique strategic patterns by linking theory with field realities, extending beyond prior literature. Implications: Strengthening LKMS through these pillars can enhance financial inclusion, reduce poverty, and promote sustainable socio-economic development, while offering guidance for policymakers and practitioners in advancing Islamic finance.Highlight : LKMS supports Islamic financial inclusion and community welfare. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management strategy of a fish farming business using the Business Model Canvas (BMC) approach and to review its practices from an Islamic economic perspective in Tanjung Rejo Village, Percut Sei Tuan District. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. As a novel contribution, this study integrates BMC and Islamic economics to provide a comprehensive analytical framework that connects business efficiency with ethical values. The findings indicate that while the existing BMC management is functional, there are significant weaknesses in the customer segments and distribution channels, leading to a strong dependence on middlemen (tengkulak). From an Islamic economics perspective, principles of justice, honesty, and social solidarity (tafakul ijtimāʿī) have been applied, but the primary challenge lies in the financing practices, which have the potential for riba. In conclusion, this research suggests that optimizing the business model and transitioning to equitable sharia financing are key to the sustainable development of the fish farming business. The practical implications of this study recommend diversifying products and markets, strengthening local partnerships like cooperatives, and providing access to sharia-compliant capital to support the independence of the fish farmers.
