Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to develop teaching materials in the form of Student Worksheets based on ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) and TPACK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge) that focus on improving students' scientific attitudes in biology learning. The identified problem is the lack of teaching materials relevant to sustainability issues and the suboptimal integration of technology in learning. This research uses the ADDIE development design, which includes needs analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of teaching materials. Validation was conducted by media experts and education practitioners to ensure the product's validity. The validation results show that the ESD-TPACK-based student worksheet device has an average validity score of 0.96, categorized as very valid, and a reliability score of 0.98. This student worksheet trains four aspects of scientific attitudes, namely determinism, the belief that every problem has a solution, curiosity, and empathy towards human conditions. The application of this student worksheet is expected to enhance students' critical thinking skills and sense of responsibility towards environmental issues through project-based active learning. In conclusion, the ESD-TPACK-based student worksheets are valid and suitable for supporting sustainable learning and enhancing students' scientific attitudes in the context of biology education.

Abstract

Experiential learning can help the learning process and provide a unique touch in the learning process. The application of experiential leaning models using self-created and designed learning media can help students in finding concepts independently. This research uses two types of media, namely simple props and PhET simulations, so it is hoped that students can learn according to the framework of experiential learning by finding their own concepts based on experience. This research uses a type of design research (Design Based Research), which aims to solve a complex problem and develop knowledge about a characteristic of the related product, using a semi-qualitative approach. This study involved 23 students of class VII of SMP Negeri in Pademawu, Pamekasan. Data collection techniques in this study used observation and surveys. The results of data analysis showed that the use of simple props received a good response from students and received a very decent response from validators. Abstract

Purpose – This research aims to analyze the information literacy abilities of eighth-grade students at Pademawu 1 State Junior High School in the context of learning science in the era of Society 5.0. The researchers also examine each indicator used to measure information literacy skills to provide insights for educators on how to improve these skills in the future.Method – The study employs a survey design, which is analyzed quantitatively and descriptively. It focuses on the information literacy skills of junior high school students and the role of education in preparing them for Society 5.0. The data is supported by a literature review that includes relevant research and other supporting sources.Findings – The results show that students' information literacy skills are generally good. However, there are deficiencies in the indicators for assessing and analyzing information, and the use of information is rated as only sufficient. This is because the activity of analyzing information requires high-level thinking skills/critical thinking, but school questions tend to train memory skills, leading to underdeveloped critical thinking skills. Additionally, internal, and external factors also influence this low ability. The ability to use information is low because learning is still teacher-centered, with students being less active in the learning process. A potential solution is to employ learning methods that develop high-level skills and are student-centered. Research Implications – This research can help educators understand the analysis of students' information literacy abilities. However, the study has not been empirically tested, so further research is needed to determine effective strategies to improve information literacy skills, such as appropriate learning methods, to enhance overall literacy skills.
