Some developments are excellent and appropriate, while others are not and have not been fulfilled. Psychological development in children that has been fulfilled includes emotional development and the ability to read and write. Meanwhile, psychological development and moral development have not been fulfilled. The role of Islamic educational psychology is crucial in child development so that Islamic educational psychology can be accessed in shaping children's attitudes and souls through instilling awareness that has a relationship with personal inner values. The method used in this study was a qualitative approach, with data collected through a descriptive-analytical literature review analysis. This research shows that children's development can grow through spiritual and social approaches in a dynamic learning process. Therefore, child development in the context of their lives can change according to the family, school, and community environments.

Abstract

The Digital Competence of Educators (DigCompEdu) is critical in 21st-century education, which helps educators teach digital literacy to students. However, published empirical evidence regarding pre-service English teachers competence in creating interactive instructional materials with specific software applications remains scarce. This paper is grounded on the implementation of digital instructional courses at an Indonesian state university, aiming at developing pre-service EFL teachers digital competencies in designing interactive instructional materials using PowerPoint, Audacity, CapCut, Inknoe ClassPoint, Filmora, the Internet, and Canva (hereafter PACIFIC). The paper describes the pre-service English teachers self-reported abilities and challenges they encountered in designing the PACIFIC-based interactive teaching materials after completing these courses. Guided by the DigCompEdu framework, the primary data from six focus group interviews with a total number of 30 participants were analyzed by using thematic analysis. The study indicates that pre-service EFL teachers reported an adequate level of competencies in designing digital interactive instructional materials in four aspects of the DigCompEdu framework. They also reported several challenges encountered while creating the teaching materials, which mostly related to resources, such as internet connectivity and subscription access to the PACIFIC software. These findings highlight the critical need for better resource allocation and support to improve pre-service EFL teachers digital literacy and performance in designing digital teaching materials.

Abstract

Water is a natural resource that is becoming increasingly scarce, and declining rainfall forces communities to adapt to living in drought and significantly different environmental and social conditions. In remote residential areas of South Australia, water tends to be the only natural resource used daily, requiring them to pay attention to their relationship with water, access, and adequacy. These are the issues that need consideration. However, lifestyles, identity, sense of belonging, and community have been shaped by the presence of water in daily habits. Water also becomes a social issue, and its management arises in cultural relations.

Abstract

This study aimed to elucidate the Islamic religious values present in science education in schools. Islamic Education (PAI) serves as a benchmark in every aspect of education in schools, particularly regarding the morality of students. Furthermore, Islamic Education is consistently juxtaposed with various other subjects, with the hope that the subjects accompanying it can impart positive values to the students. The research methodology employed was a qualitative approach using a literature review. Descriptive content analysis was utilized to analyze the data, enabling the results to address the research questions. The findings indicate that Islamic values in science education can provide a paradigm regarding the holistic concept of human beings and instill the importance of morality in every learning process for students. Therefore, Islamic content and science education can coexist to achieve good learning quality and cultivate morally upright and virtuous students.
