Abstract

Salah satu media yang memenuhi kriteria sebagai media pembelajaran mandiri adalah modul elektronik (e-modul). E-modul merupakan sebuah media pembelajaran untuk menyampaikan materi kepada mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar e-modul dengan menggunakan aplikasi kvisoft flipbook maker. Untuk melihat respon dosen dan mahasiswa terhadap bahan ajar e-modul dengan menggunakan aplikasi kvisoft flipbook maker. Metode pada penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan metode Research & Development dengan model pengembangan ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implementation, Evaluate). Proses pengembangan meliputi produksi e-modul, validasi ahli materi dan ahli media, uji coba produk, dan revisi produk. Desain uji coba produk terdiri dari uji coba tahap awal kepada 10 mahasiswa, uji coba lapangan skala kecil kepada 20 mahasiswa, dan uji coba lapangan skala besar dengan melakukan praeksperimental kepada 40 mahasiswa. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah skala analisis kebutuhan, skala kelayakan e-modul oleh para ahli, skala motivasi belajar, dan skala respons pengguna. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik deskriptif.Kata Kunci:Modul, E-Book, Khisovt,Flibbook

Abstract

The research is aimed to figure out the students’ ability in understanding TOEFL’s reading section at TOEFL Preparation class of “Universitas Sumatera Barat”. The descriptive method and  total sampling technique are employed in this research as methodology of the research and the way in set up the sample. There are 33 students of the TOEFL preparation class and all of them are taken as the sample.Reading test is used as the instrument of the study. The result of data from the students’ ability in understanding TOEFL’s reading section are as the following: The easiest question for the learners is stated detail question about 28 students or 85% can answer the questions. The next, guessing easy word from context, 27 learners or 82% had the right answers. In addition, pronoun, tone,purpose and course are also easy questions for the students, 26 students or 79% overcome the questoion correctly. The most difficult problems or questions for the learner are about definition from context clues, 22 students or 67% can answer that questions, the implied detail question, only 21 students or 64% answered it correctly. Next, organization of idea, 20 learners or 61% got the right answers.Keywords: Ability, Reading, TOEFL.

Abstract

The study is intended to figure out the problems of speaking encountered by Nursing Department students at “Universitas Sumatera Barat”. In conducting the research, the researchers used descriptive method.Total sampling technique was employed as the methodology in gaining the sample.The data of the research was collected by using speaking test in the form of interview. The result of the research shown  that the most to the least problems of speaking encountered by the Nursing students of “Universitas Sumatera Barat” as the followings; the first position is comprehension about thirteen students or 50%.The second, vocabulary around 38,4% or ten students. The third, fluency 34,9% or nine students.The fourth position is grammatical problems, consists of eight students or 30,7%. The last position is pronunciation, they are seven students or 26,9 % of sample students get problem on pronunciation.Keywords: Speaking, Speaking-Problems, Nursing Students

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the usage of the learning media Quizizz in English education in order to boost students' motivation to learn at STTIND Padang.  The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of Quizizz on students' motivation and interest in studying, as well as to identify the media's strengths and limitations.  The research approach employed was classroom action research with English Subject for Mining Engineering students.  The research was carried out in numerous cycles, each of which included planning, activity, observation, and reflection.  Data were gathered by observation, interviews, and questionnaires, and were examined qualitatively.  This study found that using Quizizz learning material increases students' motivation and interest in learning. Students are more enthusiastic while learning with Quizizz because they take interactive quizzes and receive fast feedback.  In addition, students are more interested in studying English through this application. This study suggests that using Quizizz learning media in the context of learning English at STTIND Padang can improve learning effectiveness and raise students' motivation to learn.
