Abstract

This article aims to analyze the moral meaning in the song lyrics of "Membasuh" by Hindia in collaboration with Rara Sekar. The method of research used in this article is interpretative qualitative research. This research used the method of analyzing symbols. In this research, the song is analyzed based on every stanza; the signifier is the song lyrics of "Membasuh", and the signified is the interpretation of meaning from the lyrics. On the basis of the findings, the writer found the meaning of morality in the song lyrics of "Membasuh" in every stanza. The writer found a lot of messages related to morality, both good and bad. It can be seen in every stanza that the songwriter tries to portray his or her thoughts on morality, whether they are good or bad. The song lyrics contain a lot of moral meaning, especially the good ones.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis penggunaan gaya bahasa pada antologi puisi “The Drop That Became” The Sea karya Yunus Emre. Gaya bahasa memiliki peran penting dalam karya sastra untuk menciptakan keindahan dan menghindari kebosanan bagi pembaca. Dalam penelitian ini, fokus diberikan pada penggunaan gaya bahasa seperti simile, metafora, ironi, hiperbola, dan personifikasi dalam lima puisi yang terdapat dalam antologi tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode simak dan mencatat kutipan puisi yang mengandung gaya bahasa yang diteliti. Penelitian ini juga menggunakan triangulasi teori untuk meningkatkan validitas data. Hasil analisis menunjukan bahwa antologi puisi The Drop That Became The Sea karya Yunus Emre mengandung puisi – puisi yang mengagumkan tentang cinta, kehidupan, kesucian, dan rohani. Antologi puisi The Drop That Became The Sea karya Yunus Emre memanfaatkan gaya bahasa dengan baik untuk menciptakan keindahann dan meningkatkan makna puisi – puisinya.

Abstract

This study explores how environmental messages are constructed and conveyed through the music video Earth by Lil Dicky, analyzed using Fiske’s (1987) semiotic theory. Through the three levels of semiotic analysis namely reality, representation, and ideology, this study explains how verbal and visual signs in the music video work together to form meaningful messages related to environmental issues. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this study analyzes selected segments of the video that depict environmental problems such as ecological damage and human negligence. The findings reveal that the video utilizes symbolic representations—including animated characters, color schemes, camera angles, and lyrical expressions—to convey themes of conservationism, anthropocentrism, and global collectivism. The song “Earth” serves not only as entertainment but also as a medium to raise awareness about the global environmental crisis and the urgency of collective action. This study contributes to the field of linguistics, particularly semiotic studies, by demonstrating how environmentally themed messages can be communicated through popular media.
