Abstract

Mbecek is a culture that has been integrated with society. Mbecek is a culture that has developed and continues to be preserved by the people of Bandung Village to this day. This tradition is routinely carried out by the people of Bandung when they hold a big event involving the local community as a sign that they have a big intention. The results of the study explain that the Mbecek Tradition carried out by the people of Bandung Village has several benefits including the Value of Solidarity, namely by carrying out this tradition the social ties of the community unite from various groups. The theological value is that they are grateful by carrying out the Mbecek Tradition as a form of expression of gratitude by maintaining good relations with God. T

Abstract

Tradisi merupakan sebuah kebudayaan yang di turunkan secara turun temurun oleh para leluhur. Salah satu tradisi dalam kajian tulisan ini adalah tradisi weh-wehan di Desa Wonosalam. Dalam tradisi ini menerapkan akulturasi budaya terhadap nilai-nilai keislaman. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan library research. Sedangkan teknik dalam mengumpulkan data menggunakan teknik wawancara dan observasi lapangan. Dengan teknik wawancara, kami mengambil narasumber dari tokoh agama dan sesepuh desa. Dalam penelitian ini terdapat temuan bahwa tradisi weh-wehan memiliki makna tersendiri bagi pelakunya, secara historis tradisi ini bermula ketika KH. Asy’ari (Kyai Guru) yang berasal dari kerajaan Mataram Islam untuk menyebarluaskan agama Islam di Kecamatan Kaliwungu dengan merayakan maulid nabi dengan cara memberikan makanan terhadap kerabat atau tetangga. Hal ini kemudian muncul penyebutan tradisi ini dengan nama weh-wehan. Secara sosial tradisi weh-wehan di Desa Wonosalam dilakukan dengan memberi makanan juga kepada umat non muslim. Hal ini mereka lakukan agar kerukunan antar umat beragama di desa tersebut terjaga tanpa ada sebuah masalah. Dengan tradisi weh-wehan ini, masyarakat Desa Wonosalam menjadi rukun dan damai.

Abstract

The Petik laut, a tradition that has taken root in the lives of coastal communities, is not only a symbol of gratitude for the abundant marine products but also a milestone in the continuity of Indonesian culture in the modern era. Amid changing times, this tradition remains an important part of the identity and social life of coastal communities. This research aims to gain a deeper understanding of the significance and dynamics of the petik-laut tradition in the context of the Kemantren Village community, Lamongan. A qualitative method was chosen to investigate the more complex and substantial aspects of this tradition by conducting direct observations in the field to gain a deeper understanding. The research subjects were residents of Kemantren Village, especially those directly involved in fishing activities. Through interviews, observations, and participation in local activities, the researcher attempted to permeate the values, beliefs, and roles attached to the tradition of petik lauts in the community. The results revealed various aspects ranging from the details of the implementation of the tradition to its meaning for various groups in the community, such as religious leaders and the younger generation. In addition, the research also highlights the social function of the petik-laut tradition in strengthening solidarity and maintaining social harmony in the context of community life in Kemantren Village, Lamongan. By better understanding this tradition, it is hoped that it can provide valuable insights to maintain and enrich valuable cultural heritage for future generations.
