Abstract

Education in Indonesia today seems to be only oriented to cognitive intelligence. So many character degradation problems that arise. This is because education in Indonesia is still lacking in developing students' emotional intelligence. Realizing this reality, there needs to be a concrete and sustainable solution. In this case the school's religious culture can be used as a tool to realize the formation of student character. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to describe the form of school religious culture, and analyze the contribution of school religious culture to students' emotional intelligence. This research is a type of qualitative research. The results showed that the form of school religious culture at UPT SMP Negeri 5 Medan consisted of 2 implementations, namely a) daily activities such as prayer before and after lessons. b) weekly activities consisting of istighosah program, memorizing the Qur'an leading Asmaul Husna, and Friday alms. While the contribution of school religious culture as an effort to form students' emotional intelligence consists of a) istighosah can form emotional management, b) memorizing the Qur'an and leading Asmaul Husna readings can shape students' self-motivation, c) Friday alms can form student empathy and sincerity in giving alms, d) religious cultural activities as a whole are able to raise students' self-awareness.

Abstract

Guru sebagai profesi dipandang sebagai suatu hal yang mulia. Sebab, guru mendidik berbagai profesi lainnya pada awal permulaan, guna menginternalisasikan nilai-nilai luhur atau karakter bagi peserta didik. Artikel ini ditulis dengan tujuan menganalisis tentang ruang lingkup profesi keguruan pendidikan agama Islam. Adapun metode yang digunakan yaitu studi kepustakaan (library research). Berdasarkan hasil penemuan menjelaskan bahwa Profesi keguruan adalah tugas guru dalam pembelajaran yang dapat dibagi menjadi tiga kelompok, yaitu merencanakan, melaksanakan, serta menilai proses dan hasil belajar siswa untuk tujuan perbaikan. Pendidikan Islam adalah suatu proses penyiapan generasi muda agar terbentuknya kepribadian Muslim yang sempurna dengan teoriteori dan konsep berdasarkan ajaran Islam.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of religious Friday program management which includes planning, organizing, implementing, and monitoring and evaluating in improving the quality of Islamic religious learning at UPT SMP Negeri 5 Medan. This study uses a qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach. Data collection techniques used are: observation, interviews, and documentation studies. Data analysis was carried out using techniques: selecting, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The research results obtained: 1) Religious Friday activity planning in improving the quality of Islamic religious learning has been carried out well. The first step in planning this religious Friday activity is to make a set of activities; 2) Organizing religious Friday program activities is carried out by maximizing all the potential that exists in schools, both human resources and existing facilities and infrastructure resources to achieve goals and determine the division of tasks for the parties involved; 3) Implementation of religious Friday program activities is carried out by carrying out religious Friday activities in accordance with the plans and rules that have been made; 4) Supervision of religious Friday program activities using two steps namely; direct participation and motivation of teachers and students; 5) Evaluation of religious Friday activities is going well and in accordance with the principles in the evaluation such as: continuous, comprehensive, objective.
