Abstract

Technological advancements, particularly the Internet of Things (IoT), have significantly impacted various sectors, including chemical laboratories. This research aims to design a device for detecting Alcohol and Carbon Monoxide (CO) levels in the Chemistry Education Laboratory at UIN SUSKA RIAU. The device uses MQ-3 and MQ-135 sensors connected to an ESP32 microcontroller, featuring voice notifications and integration with the Blynk application for real-time monitoring. The design includes key components such as a power supply, buzzer, speaker, DFPlayer Mini, LED, and 16x2 LCD. Hardware and software testing were conducted to ensure the device's reliability and durability. The test results showed variations in CO and Alcohol levels in the laboratory over five days. The MQ-135 sensor indicated a significant increase in CO levels on Tuesday with an average of 55.4 PPM, while the MQ-3 sensor recorded the highest Alcohol levels on Friday with an average of 2%. These variations were due to intensive practicum activities and suboptimal air circulation. The implementation of this device successfully detected and transmitted air quality data accurately and quickly through the Blynk application. The research results emphasize the importance of monitoring and controlling air quality in laboratories to ensure a safe and healthy environment for users. The use of sensors integrated with IoT has proven effective in enhancing monitoring quality and providing real-time data that can be accessed remotely, contributing positively to supporting safer learning activities in chemical laboratories

Abstract

Rangkaian listrik adalah mata kuliah wajib yang dipelajari oleh mahasiswa fakultas teknik khususnya program studi teknik elektro, fisika dan komputer. Pembahasan materi dalam rangkaian listrik yang menggunakan sumber tegangan bolak-balik adalah materi yang membuat mahasiswa harus mengeluarkan usaha lebih untuk dapat paham karena lebih banyak variabel yang dilibatkan dalam perhitungan atau pemodelan. Mahasiswa perlu diberikan variasi konsep analisis dan alat bantu yang lebih mudah diamati dan dicoba sendiri secara mandiri untuk membantu mereka memahami materi lebih cepat, seperti contohnya aplikasi android sebagai alat bantu simulasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dan membandingkan ketergunaan fitur pada aplikasi android dan membandingkannya dengan program komputer untuk simulasi rangkaian listrik. Penelitian dilakukan dengan cara mensimulasikan skema rangkaian yang sama pada beberapa aplikasi android dan mengobservasi parameter penting dalam rangkaian, demikian juga hal yang sama dilakukan kepada program komputer simulator. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa masing-masing aplikasi android dan program komputer memiliki fitur dan kegunaan yang saling melengkapi, aplikasi android unggul untuk menampilkan grafik secara visual dan program komputer unggul dalam hal memberikan informasi kepresisian nilai suatu besaran.

Abstract

This research proposes fault detection in a Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR) system using an Extended Luenberger Observer (ELO). The ELO is chosen due to the non-linearity of the CSTR system. Accurate state estimation is critical for effective fault diagnosis; therefore, the performance of the ELO is initially tested using two indicators: robustness and sensitivity in estimating the level and concentration within the CSTR system. The sensitivity test yields promising results, with the ELO accurately estimating the actual system despite variations in input and initial conditions, and with a fast convergence time of 1 seconds. The robustness test also demonstrates positive outcomes, as the ELO continues to estimate the system accurately even in the presence of noise with standard deviation 2.5% of measurements. Furthermore, faults that can be related to sensor malfunctions or the disturbances in the CSTR process were successfully detected using the ELO. Performance analysis and fault detection in the CSTR system are presented through simulation. The contributions of this research include development of ELO for non-linear dynamics CSTR system and evidence of its effectiveness in detecting fault within the in CSTR system.

Abstract

An essential required course in electrical engineering, computer science, and informatics is the microprocessor. Students may consider using Proteus software in cases wherein microprocessor trainers are unavailable. Yet, the simulation of the 8031 microprocessor-based minimum system circuit that Proteus executes fails to operate correctly, despite the fact that the source code and circuit wiring comply to programming and circuit theory standards. This is in contrast to other microcontroller-based minimum system circuits that it can be simulated successfully and as intended. This research aims to get hints in programming the 8031 minimum system circuit simulated using Proteus. The problem was investigated and analyzed by observing the parameters that become the properties of each element in the circuit, especially the RAM, then comparing them with the specifications of the microprocessor. The experimental results showed that some adjustments on the program code were necessary either written using assembly language or C program code.

Abstract

SMK Muhammadiyah Kuok adalah salah satu dari empat sekolah menengah yang ada di Kecamatan Kuok Kabupaten Kampar dan sekaligus menjadi yang sekolahan yang tertinggal diantara yang lain. Lokasi sekolah ini berada pada titik strategis di komplek akademik tingkat kecamatan namun demikian ternyata minat masyarakat nyatanya sangat rendah untuk mensekolahkan anaknya di sekolah SMK Muhammadiyah Kuok yang hanya berjumlah total dua puluh siswa yang semuanya akumulasi dari kelas X sampai XII. Salah satu faktor penyebab kurangnya minat masyarakat adalah kurangnya daya saing sekolah dan pembekalan materi yang konvensional. Materi yang meningkatkan kompetensi siswa seharusnya menjadi daya tarik bagi masyarakat yang berada di sekitarnya. Sebagai sekolah yang menyediakan kelas jurusan bisnis digital maka materi tentang IoT seharusnya diberikan dan diajarkan kepada siswa agar selaras kurikulum dan seiring dengan era digital yang pesat. Oleh karena itu perguruan tinggi sewajarnya turut mendukung sekolah dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran IoT dalam bentuk kegiatan pelatihan. Berdasarkan data kuantitatif isian kuesioner setelah kegiatan pelatihan tercatat bahwa sebagian besar responden menyatakan terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan dan sangat antusias mempelajari IoT.
