Abstract

This research aims (1) to see the increase in students' mathematical critical thinking abilities using the connecting, organizing, reflecting, and extending (CORE) learning model in terms of the level of self-efficacy, (2) to find out whether there are differences in the increase in mathematical critical thinking abilities between students who have high and low levels of self-efficacy, and (3) to determine the interaction between the CORE learning model and self-efficacy in improving critical thinking skills. This research used a sample of 57 students from class VII SMP Taruna Terpadu Bogor. The sampling technique for this research uses a cluster random sampling technique. The instruments used are test instruments in the form of critical thinking ability questions and non-test instruments in the form of self-efficacy questionnaires. The results of this research show that (1) there is no difference in the increase in mathematical critical thinking abilities between students who study the CORE learning model and the conventional learning model, (2) there is a difference in the increase in students' mathematical critical thinking abilities between students who have a high level of self-efficacy and low, (3) there is no interaction between the CORE learning model and self-efficacy on mathematical critical thinking skills

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran CORE terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa. Berdasarkan observasi siswa masih mengerjakan soal dengan bentuk soal rutin sehingga kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa masih belum terlihat dengan jelas. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pembelajaran CORE untuk melihat pengaruh terhadap kemampuan beripikir kritis matematis siswa. Metode yang digunakan penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen dengan menggunakan uji Mann Whitney untuk melihat apakah ada pengaruh model pembelajaran CORE terhadap kemampuan berpikir matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini merupakan siswa SMP di Bogor dengan siswa kelas VII di SMP Taruna Tepadu dimana populasi tersebut tidak berdistribusi normal dan homogen. Jenis penelitian yang akan dilakukan adalah analisis regresi sederhana dengan menggunakan sampel 2 kelas. Instrumen tes penelitian ini adalah tes kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa pada materi perbandingan senilai dan berbalik nilai. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa tidak terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran CORE terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the CORE learning model on students' mathematical critical thinking skills. Based on observations, students are still working on questions in the form of routine questions so that students' critical thinking skills are still not clearly visible. This study uses the CORE learning model to see the effect on students' mathematical critical thinking abilities. The method used in this study is an experimental method using the Mann Whitney test to see whether there is an effect of the CORE learning model on students' mathematical thinking abilities. The population of this study was junior high school students in Bogor with class VII students at Taruna Tepadu Middle School where the population was not normally distributed and homogeneous. The type of research to be carried out is simple regression analysis using 2 class VII samples. The test instrument for this research was a test of students' mathematical critical thinking skills in material comparisons of value and value turning. Based on the results of the study it was found that there was no influence of the CORE learning model on students' mathematical critical thinking abilities.
