Abstract

Class XI students often make mistakes when working on problem solving problems in the form of story questions. One way that can be used to find out the cause of this happening is to analyze student errors in solving mathematical problem solving. This study aims to determine the type of error and the percentage of error solving problems based on the Newman procedure. This research was conducted at MAN 1 Probolinggo in the academic year 2021/2022. This type of research is qualitative research. Data was collected using tests and interviews. The research subjects in this study were students of class XI IPA, totaling 30 students. Interview subjects were taken by purposive sampling. The research subjects to be interviewed were taken from 6 of 30 students of class XI science, each consisting of 3 students from the upper group, the middle group and the lower group. Each research subject was interviewed related to the results of his work on the story problems of social Arithmetic material. The test used in this study was 4 problem solving essay questions. The data analysis used includes data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The results of this research are expected to provide suggestion on the application of learning methods, after knowing the students' mathematical problem solving errors.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan mengembangkan e-modul berbasis EPUB pada materi pola bilangan guna meningkatkan minat belajar siswa. Latar belakang dari penelitian ini adalah rendahnya minat siswa dalam mempelajari matematika, khususnya pada topik pola bilangan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model pengembangan ADDIE yang mencakup lima tahap, yaitu Analisis, Desain, Pengembangan, Implementasi, dan Evaluasi. Pada tahap analisis dilakukan identifikasi kompetensi dasar, pemetaan kesulitan siswa dalam memahami materi pola bilangan, serta kebutuhan akan media pembelajaran berbasis e-modul. Tahap desain mencakup penyusunan struktur isi, pembuatan media audio-video, serta penambahan fitur interaktif seperti latihan soal. Proses pengembangan menghasilkan e-modul berbasis EPUB yang telah divalidasi oleh ahli materi dan ahli media. Implementasi dilakukan melalui uji coba terbatas kepada 20 siswa kelas VIII di SMP Darut Taqwa. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan penyebaran angket dan analisis data secara kuantitatif. Hasil validasi menunjukkan tingkat kevalidan sangat tinggi, dengan skor 94,66% dari ahli materi, 93% dari ahli media, dan 97,4% dari hasil uji coba pengguna. Dengan demikian, e-modul berbasis EPUB ini dinilai efektif dalam meningkatkan minat belajar siswa. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penggunaan e-modul sebagai media pembelajaran alternatif yang inovatif dan menarik dalam menyampaikan materi pola bilangan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan dalam pengembangan LKS pokok bahasan pecahan berbasis Pendekatan Saintifik di MTsN 1 Probolinggo yang praktis, efektif, dan valid. Model pengempangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah jenis pengembangan Plomp. Subjek dalam penelitian ini merupakan siswa kelas VII MTsN 1 Probolinggo berjumlah 30 Siswa. Hasil validasi instrument penelitian memperoleh skor tingkat kevalidan RPP 3,95 ; tingkat kevalidan LKS 3,91 ; tingkat kevalidan lembar observasi RPP 3,86 ; tingkat kevalidan lembar observasi LKS 3,85 ; tingkat kevalidan uji kompetensi siswa 3,89 ; dan tingkat kevalidan angket respon siswa sebesar 3,70. Tingkat kepraktisan produk memiliki skor rata-rata 96,55% didapat dari hasil observasi aktivitas guru dalam keterlaksanaan RPP , sedangkan skor rata-rata 95,75% diperoleh dari observasi kegiatan siswa pada keterlaksanaan LKS. Skor yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kepraktisan RPP dan LKS termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik. Tingkat keefektifan produk diperoleh dari ketuntasan klasikal yang mencapai 95% serta respon positif siswa menunjukkan bahwa produk LKS termasuk dalam kategori efektif.

Abstract

Learning mathematics at the junior high school level often faces challenges, particularly in students’ low understanding of basic integer operations such as addition and subtraction. These difficulties frequently result in misconceptions and low learning outcomes because the material is abstract and is often taught using conventional methods without adequate learning support. Therefore, it is urgent to implement learning strategies that can make abstract mathematical concepts more concrete and meaningful for students. This research aims to improve learning outcomes and students' understanding of concepts in the material of integer addition and subtraction operations through the use of props. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted in two cycles, each consisting of two meetings that include the stages of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were 32 seventh-grade students of MTsN 1 Probolinggo. The research instruments included learning outcome tests (pretest and posttest), student activity observation sheets, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative analysis to examine improvements in learning outcomes from the pre-cycle to cycle II. The results showed a significant increase in student learning outcomes after the application of teaching aids. The average pretest score in the pre-cycle was 45%, which increased to 82.5% in the posttest of cycle I and further increased to 92.2% in the posttest of cycle II. The percentage of classical learning completeness also improved, from 18.75% in the pre-cycle to 87.5% in cycle I and reached 100% in cycle II. These findings indicate that the use of teaching aids helps students understand the concepts of integer addition and subtraction more concretely, facilitates problem-solving, and enhances learning outcomes. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of teaching aids is effective in improving conceptual understanding and mathematics learning outcomes of seventh-grade students at MTsN 1 Probolinggo.
