Abstract This study aims to describe the process and outcomes of singing skill training for non-physical disabled students at the Art Therapy Center Widyatama. The research used a descriptive qualitative method, with observation and interviews as the main data collection techniques. The study found that the singing skill training was conducted through several stages, including basic technique introduction, singing practice, and performance evaluation. Despite some challenges during the training process, such as difficulties in adapting to the learning methods, the results show that students were able to significantly develop their vocal skills. These findings support the importance of adapting teaching methods to meet the specific needs of disabled students to maximize their potential in the field of music arts. Abstract

This article explores the aesthetic dynamics of collaboration between traditional and modern musical elements through a case study of Peucang, a composition by the music collective SORA (Sound of Heritage). The study focuses on how the integration of traditional Sundanese musical idioms with contemporary composition techniques produces a new musical expression rooted in local identity while being open to global sensibilities. The research employs an analytical-descriptive method by examining structural, thematic, and textural aspects of the composition. The findings reveal that Peucang embodies a dialogic approach, where traditional and modern elements are not juxtaposed superficially but interwoven into a cohesive musical language. This collaborative model demonstrates a pathway for sustainable cultural innovation, where tradition is not merely preserved but transformed and revitalized through creative reinterpretation. The article contributes to ongoing discourses on musical hybridity, cultural continuity, and the role of aesthetic agency in contemporary composition practices.

Abstract

Purpose: This study analyzes the experiences of the independent band AidoAudio in utilizing the digital music distribution platform Believe Backstage. The purpose is to examine how digital accessibility and digital literacy affect the band's ability to manage releases, interpret analytics, and implement promotional strategies. This focus aims to uncover the challenges and opportunities faced by Indonesian independent musicians in the digital music ecosystem. Method: This study employs a qualitative method with an instrumental case study strategy. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with band members, supported by documentation including dashboard screenshots, official tutorials, and pitching forms. Data analysis used thematic coding to identify patterns related to accessibility and digital literacy. Triangulation and member checking ensured data credibility. Result and Discussion: The analysis shows that AidoAudio has strong operational-technical literacy, allowing smooth release uploads and compliance with metadata standards. However, interpretative and strategic literacy, including analytics use and editorial pitching, remains limited. Administrative barriers at the early access stage require attention but do not directly block platform use. The interplay between accessibility and literacy indicates that effective digital distribution depends not only on platform availability but also on the band’s internal capacity to build legitimacy, manage informal channels, and leverage social networks. Implication: This study highlights the importance of multidimensional digital literacy for independent musicians, emphasizing that access without literacy results in partial utilization, whereas literacy without formal access does not ensure effective distribution. The findings provide a model for optimizing digital music distribution strategies in Indonesia.

Abstract

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in music production is growing rapidly and has given rise to debates about creativity, authorship, and the role of human agents in cultural practices. While a number of previous studies have tended to highlight the technical, economic, or legal aspects of AI-based music, studies of its socio-anthropological implications are still limited. This research aims to analyze AI-generated music as a cultural practice that is at the intersection of human and machine agents. Using a qualitative socio-anthropological approach, this study applies digital ethnography and document analysis to AI music platforms, musical artifacts, and online public discussions that developed between 2022–2024. The findings show that AI-based music practices are characterized by the normalization of algorithmic sounds, increasing human-AI collaboration, unclear boundaries of authorship, the influence of algorithmic mediation on cultural visibility, as well as ambivalent listener responses. The results show that AI does not replace human creativity, but reconfigures music agencies through relational and curatorial practices shaped by the platform's infrastructure. The study concludes that AI-based music is a new socio-technical configuration in which creativity, meaning, and cultural authority are negotiated on an ongoing basis. The contribution of this research enriches the study of music anthropology, posthumanist theory, and critical discourse on cultural production in algorithmic societies.
