Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using VideoScribe Sparkol on the English creative writing skills at the third semester students of the English Education Study Program of Muhammadiyah Tangerang University. This study used quantitative approach with Quasi-Experimental design method. The instrument used was essay writing tests. The results of the study showed that: (1) the results of the pre-test t-count 1.025 < t-table 2.000 or H0 was accepted, meaning that there was no difference in creative writing skills between the control class and the experimental class, (2) the results of the post-test t-count 2.161 > t-table 2.000 or H1 was accepted, meaning that there were differences in creative writing skills between the control class and the experimental class after being exposed to the VideoScribe Sparkol learning media. It could be concluded that by using VideoScribe Sparkol learning media, students were able to achieve maximum results in their creative writing scores because through this learning media, students could carry out creative and meaningful writing activities as well as increase their writing skills in general.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to find out whether there were religious values in Ciliwet folklore and to obtain an idea of which learning model was appropriate for high school students in the Academic Year of 2018/2019. In this study, the researcher used the descriptive method, which is a method that focuses on solving problems by collecting data, compiling, classifying, analyzing and interpreting, and in the end, it would be described into descriptions in several sentences or paragraphs. The techniques used were observation, interviews, documentations and literature study. The results of the analysis of religious values in the Ciliwet folklore include words which, when classified, were divided into three parts, namely the values of aqidah, the values of shari'a and the values of morality. Aqidah values are values related to the beliefs of God’s creatures to their Creator. Shari'a values are values related to how humans interact with each other and cannot be separated from the true Islamic shari'a thoughts. Further, moral values are values related to behavior, human manners in acting in everyday life.

Abstract

The problems formulated in this study are: (1) are there cultural values in Cimangeunteung folklore?; (2) what cultural values are contained in Cimangeunteung folklore, Cimangeunteung Village, Rangkasbitung District?; and (3) what is the appropriate learning model for high school students? This purpose of the study is to obtain: (1) an overview of cultural values in Cimangeunteung folklore ; (2) the description of what cultural values are contained in Cimangeunteung folklore; and (3) an overview of the appropriate learning model for high school students in the Academic Year of 2021/2022. In this study, the descriptive method was used. It is a method that focuses on solving problems by collecting data, compiling, classifying, analyzing and interpreting and in the end, it would be described into descriptions of several sentences or paragraphs. The techniques used were observation, interviews, documentations and literature study. The results of the analysis regarding cultural values in Cimangeunteung folklore included words which, when classified, were divided into four parts, namely customs, life values and environmental management systems. These customs were usually agreed by the local community. Meanwhile, one of the life values was affection. When someone loves someone else, it means that he has feelings of affection for other people. Affection is the basis of life, family formation, close relationships in society and close human relationships.
