Abstract

The reconstruction of geological history includes the development of rocks and volcanic deposits on a depositional pattern consisting of various types of sedimentary materials accumulated over a long time, which involves depositional changes. Depositional changes require geological comprehension in analyzing and understanding the geological processes involved in their evolution. For this reason, stratigraphic analysis is a very relevant approach to discussing rock layers, including significant environmental changes during their geologic history. The purpose of this research is to find out the geological processes that have contributed to the formation of the earth in the past. The method in this research is a stratigraphic analysis carried out from field observation data carried out directly at the outcrop. Deposition began with the re-deposition of the Pre-Tertiary (Triassic)-aged Porphyry Quartz Dasite Formation. In the Late Oligocene Epoch, the Sawahtambang Formation was deposited, which formed in the braided river characterized by the presence of sedimentary structures in the form of lamination and cross lamination. In the Early Miocene to Middle Miocene, the transgression process occurred, where the change in deposition was caused by the supply of larger land sediments that caused the deposition of the Ombilin Formation to be deposited in the marine environment of the Transition-Nerritic Edge based on the bathymetry results. The research results are expected to enable geological information to gain in-depth knowledge and experience about the history of deposition and assist in geological modeling.

Abstract

The Sawahtambang Formation in Sijunjung Regency, West Sumatra, is primarily composed of thick sandstones, which are of significant interest due to their potential as oil and gas reservoirs. However, the mineralogical and petrographic characteristics, as well as the depositional and tectonic origins of these sandstones, remain poorly understood, particularly in relation to the tectonic processes that influenced their formation. This knowledge gap poses challenges for accurate geological interpretation and resource assessment. The objective of this study is to investigate the mineral composition, petrographic properties, and provenance of the sandstones from the Sawahtambang Formation. The methodology employed includes petrographic analysis and provenance studies. The results of the provenance analysis indicate that the sandstones are derived from a Recycled Orogen source, suggesting that they were primarily formed in collision or subduction zones. This tectonic setting is characterized by a low feldspar and volcanic lithic content and a higher quartz content. The findings of this study contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of the geological information and origin of the Sawahtambang Formation sandstones in West Sumatra

Abstract

Education cannot be separated from the teaching and learning process between teachers and students in a school institution, which plays an active role in providing education to students. This research if focused on extracurricular activities in school, Lahat district itself not only has a lot of diversity in dance, but also includes an area dubbed the student city because of the many schools that were established there, so the researchers chose to develop the art of dance, one of which is the Siwar dance throught extracurricular activities at school. Therefore, of couse, there are difficulties that often arise inlearning the siwar dance in extracurriculler activities, including students finding it difficult to understand the movements when demonstrastrating the dance using the siwar directly, because it takes strong concentration to establish the siwar on the fingers. With this the writer aimed to describe about Siwar Dance Lesson on Extracurricular Activity in MTS Negeri 1 Lahat by using Drill method. With qualitativedescriptive as the research method and withobservation, interviewsalso documentation as collectingdata. The result shown that the extracurricular activity in MTS Negeri 1 Lahat run well so it created achievements and becoming the sample for another extracurricular activity. The benefit of this research is to share the knowladge especially in educationand as references for the next researcher.
