Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang klasifikasi nilai mahasiswa dengan menggunakan optimasi algoritma C4.5 menggunakan Adaboost Classification. Dengan adanya permasalahan yang dihadapi yaitu, penurunan nilai mahasiswa yang drastis, maka tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui indikator yang mempengaruhi penurunan nilai mahasiswa dan meningkatkan persentase akurasi pada algoritma C4.5 menggunakan metode Adaboost Classification. Hasil pengujian awal dengan algoritma C4.5 menunjukkan akurasi sebesar 81% dalam klasifikasi nilai mahasiswa. Namun, akurasi tersebut perlu ditingkatkan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini menerapkan metode seleksi fitur dengan menambahkan metode Adaboost Classification untuk mengoptimalkan akurasi algoritma C4.5. hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa dengan metode Adaboost Classification, akurasi dapat meningkat menjadi 85% dengan indikator yang berpengaruh antara lain progress, course completed, tugas 1, tugas 2 dan simbol sebagai kelas targetnya. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi dalam meningkatkan akurasi dengan mengoptimalkan algoritma C4.5 melalui metode Adaboost Classification serta dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan system evaluasi nilai mahasiswa untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan.

Abstract

This research article discussed the acquisition of English as a second language in 8-year-old children through YouTube media. This research used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The research subjects were an 8-year-old child named Afnan, and his mother, Rantika. Data collection techniques included observation, non-formal interview, and library research. The results showed that; 1) Afnan's second language acquisition process is almost the same as his first language acquisition process. 2) YouTube is proven to promote language development, cross-cultural learning, and motivation in an authentic second language learning environment. Through the medium of YouTube, Afnan is able to communicate in English after being exposed to English channels since the age of 2 years old. His mother deliberately introduced English to Afnan because she believes that it is important to master English from an early age. Therefore, this study also highlights the importance of second language acquisition during the golden age of children, where human absorption and memory are more optimal.

Abstract

This research discusses the use of metaphor features in the Podcast Najwa Shihab Episode “Eklusif: Ganjar Pranowo dan Piala Dunia” | Mata Najwa. This podcast is one of the contents of Najwa Sihab's Youtube channel which is the source of data in this study. The purpose of the research is to analyze the characteristics of metaphors used and their relationship with power. This research was conducted using Fairclough's (1992) critical discourse research approach, which views language as a means of power. The research method used was descriptive qualitative. Through this research, the author found six metaphorical expressions from the podcast episode " Eklusif: Ganjar Pranowo dan Piala Dunia” | Mata Najwa. The results of this study show that language not only plays a central role in human life, but language is also created as a tool to control something, change something or make something happen. Other results show that the discourse and communication patterns between Najwa Shihab and Ganjar Pranowo in the podcast exemplify the exercise of power that directly influences people's opinions and behavior in responding to the government's stance of canceling the 2023 World Cup in Indonesia.
