Abstract

Taktik dasar passing bola voli yang digunakan oleh siswa ekstrakurikuler SMA Negeri 1 Marabahan menjadi tujuan penelitian ini. Sampel penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif ini adalah dua belas siswa SMA Negeri 1 Marabahan yang bermain bola voli secara ekstrakurikuler. Peserta dipilih melalui proses seleksi yang disengaja dengan mempertimbangkan beberapa faktor, salah satunya adalah pemahaman mereka tentang dasar-dasar bola voli. Penelitian ini menggunakan tes passing bola voli sebagai metode pengumpulan datanya. Metode analisis data terdiri dari protokol pengujian, desain survei, dan statistik deskriptif. Analisis data penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa 12 siswa SMA Negeri 1 Marabahan yang mengikuti ekstrakurikuler bola voli memiliki kemampuan passing yang kurang baik. Temuan ini didasarkan pada hasil tes passing bawah siswa SMAN 1 Marabahan serta pemeriksaan keterampilan dasar passing bola voli siswa, dimana batang tubuh tetap tegak dan kaki tidak ditekuk. Membungkuk mengakibatkan teknik dasar passing bola voli kurang ideal dan mata masih belum fokus pada bola.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the participation and self-confidence of Grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 13 Banjarbaru in volleyball learning through the use of plastic balls as modified media. The background of this research is the low participation and self-confidence of students caused by fear of collision with standard volleyballs. The study used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, implemented in two cycles. The research subjects were 27 Grade VIII students in the Even Semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected through a Likert scale questionnaire (30 items, score 30–150), teacher performance observation sheets, and student activity observation sheets. Analysis used comparative descriptive methods comparing pre-cycle, Cycle I, and Cycle II results. The results showed significant improvement: the average score increased from 67.48 (pre-cycle, Sufficient category) to 83.22 (Cycle I) and 112.41 (Cycle II). Classical completion increased from 29.63% to 44.44% and finally reached 100% in Cycle II. Teacher performance increased from 75% to 95%, while student activity increased from 66.67% to 83.33%. The conclusion of this study is that the use of plastic balls as modified media is proven effective in improving student participation and self-confidence in volleyball learning.
