Abstract

Purpose — One of the fairtrade's major purposes is to raise the socio-economic of small-scale farmers. Numerous studies have found that fairtrade has a beneficial effect on farmers' profitability. Meanwhile, this study focused on the product management strategies of enterprises engaged in fair trade products.Method — The researchers used 50 legally registered enterprises located and operated in the province of Cavite. The significant findings were drawn and analyzed using a descriptive research design.Result — It was discovered that the majority of respondents were sole proprietors with few employees, had been in business for less than three years, and had an average initial capital of Php 3,000,000.00 or less. The product management strategies were very effective, and the majority of the participants used package labeling, fair pricing, and personal branding. Furthermore, the study identified challenges encountered in the implementation of product management strategies, such as poor consumer knowledge about packaging, financial resources that affect product pricing, and consumers' lack of brand exposure.Contribution — The study provides detailed product management practices or strategies among fairtrade products, which will serve as a springboard for status quo analysis and baseline studies to explore and develop pandemic- and post-pandemic-sensitive resilient strategies that will promote the sustainability of fairtrade enterprises.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship has proven to become a potent economic opportunity augmenting activity that transcends the economic status quo, social strata, and even gender classification. Hence, the researchers aimed to understand gender roles among micro-enterprises in General Trias City and Tanza, Cavite, as a baseline study in undertaking gender-sensitive approach analysis to the enterprise. The study used descriptive design and purposive sampling methods in selecting 30 female and 30 male respondents in General Trias City and Tanza, Cavite. Findings showed that microenterprise business owners were dominated by 20 to 23 years old in both sexes, mostly single college undergraduates and having more than three years in operation. The study revealed the majority of male and female participants answered variably concerning gender roles among entrepreneurs in terms of; conflict management, mindset creation, emotion setting, planning, leading, organizing, controlling, and directing. On the other hand, 60 participants answered variably in participation roles among entrepreneurs in terms of; conflict management, mindset creation, emotion setting, planning, leading, organizing, controlling, and directing. Hence, the researchers' recommendations arrived at through gender roles analysis using the gender role attitude scale and degree of gender participation-role among entrepreneurs crafted towards the promotion of harmonious activities within enterprises concerning specific gender roles and their respective enterprise activities.

Abstract

The One Town One Product (OTOP) is a program of the Philippines wherein enterprises sell their products that are available within their localities. This study aimed in determination of challenges and opportunities experienced by these enterprises in Cavite. The researchers used descriptive-correlational design, purposive sampling and flexible data survey approaches through questionnaires. The proponents found that most of the OTOP enterprises were operating young, their initial capital is Php 300,000.00 below and most of the enterprises have one to nine employees. The participants of the study experienced challenges in production, reduction on manpower, establishing funds for employee-support, managing their flow of funds, attracting new customers, ensuring the health and well-being of the people. Moreover, the correlation results were insignificant. Thus, all null hypotheses are accepted. The outcome of this research study serves as a baseline for policy intervention and strategic implementation for rebound strategies among the pandemic hit enterprises.

Abstract

Pandemic has a big impact on the whole economy especially on the business industry, most of the businesses are forcibly closed down due to the pandemic, and due to the safety measurements of the government, and businesses such as courier services are playing a vital role in building the gap between the customers and businesses. Hence, the study aimed to determine the customers’ evaluation on service quality of courier services in Tanza, Cavite. The researchers used a descriptive-correlational research design in this study. The result of the study depicted that majority of the courier service customer were female with 78.89% and age ranging from 21 to 30 years old. The majority of the participants were single. Also, College undergraduates obtained the highest percentage with 58.90%, as well as the net monthly income of the participants ranging less than Php 10,957.00. However, in terms of the customers’ level of satisfaction on the five dimensions of service quality, credibility got the highest grand mean which indicates that it is the factor that highly influences customer satisfaction. The overall satisfaction level of the participants showed that they were satisfied with the services of courier service providers. The researchers concluded that majority of courier service customers are female’s ages ranging from 21 to 30 years old. The researchers revealed that most of the courier service customers are college undergraduates and earning less than Php 10,957.00 per month. The researchers recommended strategies to courier services to improve their service quality.
