Abstract

Learning outcomes in economics learning at SMA Phase E that are related to material on production activities are that students understand the economic system as a way of organizing various economic activities to meet the various needs of society. Decision-making is commonly found in production activities, and every decision-making process has risks. To overcome this, the concept of probability is needed. Decision-making needs to be taught to students so that they can understand economic activities, which are always dynamic in nature, and the impact of these economic dynamics. Therefore, in learning economics, especially in material on production activities related to decision-making with risk, teachers can start with the theory of expected value and variance so that production activities do not experience losses and can even increase profits. This research aims to explore the relationship between statistical material and economics learning in high school. The research method used is a literature study method and is descriptive-qualitative in nature. The results show that economics teachers in high schools can teach and implement opportunity theory in economics learning in Phase E high schools to equip students to manage various economic activities, especially production activities.

Abstract

The assessment of students' critical thinking abilities is crucial for the learning process; however, numerous educators have been unable to select high-quality evaluation tools. A question that is effective must satisfy the following criteria: adequate validity, reliability, difficulty level, differentiating power, and effectiveness of the checker. A quantitative approach was employed in this study, which employed descriptive methods in one of the high schools in Yogyakarta. 15 summative test items on derivative material were administered to 30 students as the research subjects. The question is declared valid, as the content validity results using V-Aiken's indicate a value of 0.8889. This value is classified as high. The reliability test yielded a value of 0.924 for choice questions and 0.777 for description questions, suggesting that the questions were reliable. The analysis of the items revealed that item number 6 required deletion due to its low differential power, while item number 7 required revision. Questions 10 and 12 should be addressed in accordance with the level of difficulty. The exemptions are ineffective, necessitating revision of the answer options in question numbers 9 and 10. This research underscores the significance of enhancing evaluation instruments to facilitate the attainment of student learning indicators.

Abstract

Mastering a foreign language requires not only memorization but also overcoming deeply ingrained linguistic habits. For Banjar learners studying Arabic, phonological and grammatical challenges pose significant barriers to fluency. This study explores the phonological and grammatical errors encountered by Banjar learners in Arabic speaking skills at Pesantren Darullughah Wadda'wah Putri. Through a qualitative descriptive approach, it identifies the prevalent types of errors, their underlying causes, and potential pedagogical strategies for improvement. The findings reveal significant phonological issues, including substitutions of Arabic phonemes influenced by the Banjar dialect, as well as grammatical inconsistencies due to overgeneralization and limited exposure to authentic Arabic structures. The study highlights native language interference, lack of phonetic training, and psychological barriers, such as fear of criticism, as primary causes of these challenges. Proposed solutions include intensive phonetic drills, immersive language environments, context-based grammar instruction, and the integration of cultural and technological resources. This research contributes to Arabic language pedagogy by providing targeted strategies to enhance the proficiency of Banjar learners, bridging linguistic gaps while respecting their cultural identity.
