Abstract

One of language skills that students must to learn is writing. Writing has issues when put into practice. The challenges to the fulfillment of high-quality learning must be overcome. One of them is through picking and organizing a teaching strategy that might spark students' interest in writing. However, there are undoubtedly issues with its application that teachers must deal with. This study was carried out at SMP N 6 Kubung in the West Sumatra Province's Solok Regency. Worksheets for students, project-based learning implementation processes, and teacher learning resources make up the study's data. Teachers, students, and the teaching and learning process are the sources of data.The goal of writing is to describe the issues that teachers encounter. The method adopted is a qualitative descriptive approach, which describes the issues encountered when applying this model. The findings from the research are 1) the planning for implementing the learning model is constrained by funds and facilities; 2) The percentage level of some student activities is low; 3) student motivation and activeness that need to be improved. Applying this strategy can help you learn to create explanatory texts better because it enhances the learning experience. The cooperation of numerous stakeholders is necessary for the successful implementation of this concept. Schools give teachers with the auxiliary resources they require. Teachers must be able to establish trusting bonds with their charges.Keywords: application, model learning, project-based

Abstract

Indonesia boasts diversity in its ethnicities, nationalities, and languages. In the context of a bilingual society, the exclusive use of a single language in communication becomes impractical. Hence, the phenomenon of code-switching commonly occurs, which involves the mixing of two or more languages during language interaction. This study focuses on analyzing code-switching in television advertising language in the year 2023. The aim of this research is to identify various forms of code-switching utilized in television advertising language, including phrases, clauses, hybrids, and word repetitions. The research methodology employed is qualitative, utilizing data collection techniques such as advanced listening, recording, coding, and transcription. Data analysis is conducted using the distributional method. The results of this study indicate that modern television advertisements often combine various language elements to achieve a more effective communication impact with the audience.Keywords: code, mixing, advertise, television

Abstract

This study addresses the need for innovative digital learning tools by developing an interactive Electronic Student Worksheet (E-LKPD) based on the Live-Worksheets platform. It aims to enhance reading and viewing skills among Phase F students (Grade XI senior high school) in Indonesian language subjects, aligning with modern educational demands for critical thinking and digital literacy. A Research and Development (RD) approach utilizing the 4-D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate) was employed. Data collection instruments included validation sheets for content, media, and language; practicality questionnaires; test instruments; and student activity observations. The E-LKPD was evaluated for validity, practicality, and effectiveness through expert reviews, small and large group trials, and assessments of students' learning outcomes and engagement. Expert validation yielded high scores for content (90%), media (86%), and language (86%). Practicality ratings were similarly high, with 89% for small groups and 91% for large groups. Students demonstrated significant learning improvements, with an average score of 92, while engagement levels reached 98%. Positive responses to the E-LKPD were reported by 91% of participants, highlighting its alignment with students' needs for interactive and creative learning. The findings confirm that the E-LKPD enhances students' reading and viewing skills, such as text comprehension and visual media analysis, while fostering a student-centered learning environment. Its integration of interactive technology promotes adaptive learning and supports digital education goals. The E-LKPD is an effective tool for improving learning outcomes and engagement, advancing literacy, and meeting the demands of digital-era education.

Abstract

Abstract: Character building is a crucial aspect of 21st-century education, particularly in the digital era, as students are frequently exposed to various digital content. However, its implementation still faces various challenges in the school environment, particularly in learning contexts that do not fully support the internalization of character values. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Multiliteracy Integrative Learning Model in strengthening students' character formation, particularly in terms of honesty, discipline, and responsibility. This study used a descriptive quantitative approach with observation sheets as the main instrument. The research subjects consisted of students from two high schools selected purposively. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics with average calculations to interpret students' character tendencies. The results showed that students' character values were formed through teacher guidance interactions and habituation in the learning environment. In general, students showed a positive tendency in developing honesty, discipline, and responsibility, although more systematic and continuous reinforcement is needed in the learning process.Abstrak: Penguatan karakter merupakan aspek krusial dalam pendidikan abad ke-21, khususnya di era digital, karena pada era ini siswa kerap terpapar berbagai konten digital. Namun, penerapannya masih menghadapi berbagai tantangan di lingkungan sekolah, terutama dalam konteks pembelajaran yang belum sepenuhnya mendukung internalisasi nilai-nilai karakter. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas Multiliteracy Integrative Learning Model dalam memperkuat pembentukan karakter siswa, khususnya dalam hal kejujuran, disiplin, dan tanggung jawab.. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif dengan lembar observasi sebagai instrumen utama. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas siswa dari dua sekolah menengah atas yang dipilih secara purposive. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dengan perhitungan rata-rata untuk menginterpretasi kecenderungan karakter siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai karakter siswa terbentuk melalui interaksi bimbingan guru, dan pembiasaan dalam lingkungan pembelajaran. Secara umum, siswa menunjukkan kecenderungan positif dalam mengembangkan sikap jujur, disiplin, dan bertanggung jawab, meskipun diperlukan penguatan yang lebih sistematis dan berkelanjutan dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development needs of an e-LKPD assisted by the Live-Worksheets platform in reading and viewing lessons at SMA Negeri 2 Padang. The research method used is qualitative descriptive, focusing on the define phase in the 4-D development model. The research subjects consist of teachers and eleventh-grade students, with primary data collected through semi-structured interviews, student learning style questionnaires, and secondary data through documentation study. Data analysis techniques follow Creswell’s (2016) stages: data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results show that printed LKPD is still monotonous and lacks interactivity, not supporting the development of students' critical thinking and digital literacy skills. The student learning style questionnaire reveals a variety of preferences that are not fully accommodated by the printed LKPD. Students are more motivated by interactive features, multimedia, and automatic feedback found in the e-LKPD Live-Worksheets. This study also highlights the need for activities that support intensive reading skills and visual analysis, such as evaluating news accuracy and understanding visual elements in media. The integration of e-LKPD Live-Worksheets can enhance learning effectiveness, student engagement, as well as the development of critical thinking and digital literacy skills, taking into account diverse learning styles.

Abstract

Abstract: Comparing Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and Active Learning in Augmenting Students' Proficiency in Reading Comprehension. Objective: To compare the influence of the PBL Model and the Active Learning Model on students' understanding of BIPA learning method material. Method: This research uses experimental methods and a quasi-experimental research design. A two group pretest-posttest research design was used for this study. Using purposive sampling technique, the sample for this investigation was selected from two classes. This research's data collection approach requires administering tests. SPSS is a software application used for statistical data analysis. Active Learning and PBL influence students' reading comprehension of lesson material, according to the findings of this research. Findings: Based on testing the two models, the results showed that the average learning outcomes of students who used the Active Learning model could not be differentiated from those of students who used the PBL model. Conclusion: The results of the SPSS analysis of the N-gain Score show that both the PBL and Active Learning models are very effective in improving students' reading comprehension of the subject matter. Keywords: problem based learning, active learning, reading comprehension.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v14.i1.202406
