Abstract

This research aims to explain that the anomalies created by globalization are driving changes that the public in general is not aware of, where the Baduy people, especially the Outer Baduy, are starting to violate the traditions they hold. Globalization has encouraged hidden capitalism which has succeeded in breaking into the realm of daily life and activities carried out by the Outer Baduy people because the area they live in has been used as a tourist attraction and this has become an opportunity for capitalists to achieve maximum profits; by building market chains (mini markets, accommodation and other public facilities), distributing their products to the Outer Baduy community for sale, and forcing the community to integrate with modern culture such as using smartphones, modern equipment and consuming food. light. Hegemony is the reason this hidden power dynamic of capitalism persists in the lives of the Outer Baduy people, by instilling consumer values and promoting certain products as symbols of status and modernity. This research uses a qualitative analysis method which is based on objective observation; and also uses secondary data obtained through library data collection techniques. This research concludes the need to fight against the hegemony of capitalism through awareness and solidarity from traditional leaders together with the Outer Baduy community in maintaining their traditions and values so that they remain sustainable in the future.

Abstract

This research aims to explain that left-wing groups have returned to political participation in the Latin American region, which has given birth to the Pink Tide 2.0 phenomenon. The rise of the Pink Tide 2.0 phenomenon began with Mexico in 2018 and Argentina in 2019. This trend continued throughout 2021 and 2022, when many left-wing leaders won elections in Latin America; including Bolivia, Peru, Honduras, Chile, Colombia and Brazil. Elements of the political movement like its predecessor were characterized as "anti-American" and prioritized social-based development, but had a new transformation that focused on environmental protection and fighting climate change, realizing social justice for every race, gender political emancipation (feminism and LGBTQ+), as well as sustainable economic restructuring to eradicate poverty and inequality. This research uses qualitative methods with literature study, as well as social developmentalism theory according to Lena Lavinas. This research concludes that Pink Tide 2.0 emerged due to Latin American society's distrust of right-wing leaders, because they saw stagnant development and increasingly massive inequality following the worsening of the regional economy during the 2010s and the Covid-19 pandemic. Pink Tide 2.0 is the rise of left-wing regimes in Latin America to involve broader segments of society in the sustainable development of each sector.

Abstract

Energy waste can be caused by the uncontrolled use of electronic devices. This study develops an ESP32-based automation system to optimize the automatic operation of room lighting and fans as an effort toward energy saving and the smart home concept. The research method is system design, divided into two main parts: system 1, which regulates lighting using PIR and BH1750 sensors, and system 2, which controls a fan and desk lamp using an ultrasonic sensor, DHT11, and an AS608 fingerprint sensor. Both systems communicate through ESP-NOW to ensure coordination in device operation. The ESP32-based system was chosen for its capability of integrating wireless connectivity, relatively low power consumption, and support for multiple communication protocols, making it suitable for smart home applications. In addition, the use of biometric sensors provides added value in the form of personalized control, which is rarely found in similar studies, making the system not only efficient but also adaptive to users’ specific needs. Experimental results show that the system can adjust lighting and fan speed according to designed scenarios and user preferences. The room lighting was maintained within the range of 260 lux to 385 lux when occupied, and the fan remained active when the temperature exceeded 25°C to support air circulation, but automatically turned off when the temperature fell below 25°C to save energy. The key finding of this study is that energy savings can be achieved through condition-based load control, reduction of unnecessary power consumption, and personalization via fingerprint sensors. The integration of ESP-NOW and biometrics makes this design an innovative approach toward a user-oriented, energy-efficient smart home.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries in Southeast Asia rich in nickel reserves, so this has become an attraction for foreign investors to compete to invest amid a drastic increase in market demand for lithium batteries for electric vehicles. Tesla, Inc. became one of the investors who showed interest in the potential for establishing a lithium-ion battery factory for electric vehicles. Indonesia is aware of Tesla's enthusiasm in trying to conduct intense negotiations and lobbying because these MNCs have several advantages in terms of advanced features and acceleration, as well as adhering to green principles. The author's aim in raising this issue is to reflect on Indonesia's long process of building government-to-business negotiations and lobbying with Tesla, where Indonesia sees this opportunity as a step to pursue national interests. The method used in this research is based on a literature study through secondary data collection. The findings from this research are that both Indonesia and Tesla use a rational approach and integrative strategy in negotiating investment cooperation. However, Indonesia's optimistic attitude is reflected in experiencing various challenges, including competition from competitors from other countries and unsustainable nickel mining problems.
