Abstract

In Indonesia, 44.2% of children experience difficulties with sleep onset, yet 72% of parents perceive this to be a minor issue. Conversely, sleep disorders have been linked to adverse effects on infant growth, immune system function, and the regulation of the endocrine system. To enhance the quality of sleep and facilitate optimal child growth and development, infant massage may be a viable solution. The objective of this research is to investigate the potential benefits of infant massage using aromatherapy essential oils, specifically ylang-ylang flower, on the sleep quality of infants aged 6-12 months. The objective of this study is to determine the effectiveness of infant massage using aromatherapy essential oil of ylang-ylang flower on the quality of sleep of infants aged 6-12 months at Posyandu Arjuna Lingkungan IV Sei Renggas Village. Methodology In this study, the researchers employed a quantitative research methodology. The results of the study are as follows: The results of the Wilcoxon test indicate a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), which rejects the null hypothesis (Ho). This suggests that there is a statistically significant difference in the quality of sleep of infants aged 6-12 months before and after receiving a massage using aromatherapy essential oil ylang ylang flowers. In conclusion, the results of this study indicate that infant massage using aromatherapy essential oil of ylang-ylang flower is an effective method for improving the quality of sleep in infants aged 6-12 months. A significant difference was observed in the quality of sleep of infants aged 6-12 months before and after baby massage using ylang ylang essential oil aromatherapy, with a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The use of baby massage with ylang ylang essential oil aromatherapy effectively improves sleep quality in infants aged 6-12 months at Posyandu Arjuna.

Abstract

Anxiety during labor can disrupt the smoothness of the labor process and increase the risk of complications. The role of midwives in providing emotional support, information, and assistance is expected to reduce this anxiety. The objective is to analyze the influence of the midwife's role on reducing maternal anxiety during the labor process. The method is a quantitative descriptive correlational study with a total sampling technique. The sample consisted of 32 midwives and 32 mothers giving birth. Data were collected using a questionnaire (Guttman scale for the role of midwives and the HARS scale for anxiety), analyzed univariately and bivariately (chi-square test). The results are that 90.6% of midwives play a supportive role. The level of maternal anxiety is dominated by mild anxiety (46.9%), no anxiety (40.6%), and moderate (12.5%). The chi-square test shows a significant relationship between the midwife's role and the level of anxiety (p = 0.010). The conclusion is that the supportive role of midwives (emotional support, information, and assistance) significantly reduces maternal anxiety during labor. Optimizing the role of midwives is recommended to improve the quality of midwifery services.

Abstract

Kuaspadu herbal drink, consisting of turmeric, tamarind, gotu kola, and honey, is a traditional Indonesian remedy commonly used as an alternative treatment for various ailments. The combination of ingredients has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. Turmeric contains curcumin, which may inhibit the excessive release of prostaglandins in uterine tissue, reducing uterine contractions. Tamarind has flavonoids with analgesic effects, gotu kola contains triterpenoids that improve blood circulation and relax the uterus, and honey has flavonoids similar to those found in mefenamic acid, providing a natural pain-relief effect. This study aimed to determine the effect of Kuaspadu herbal drink on reducing menstrual pain in female adolescents. This research used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post-test approach. A total of 52 female adolescent participants were involved. Each participant was given 150 ml of Kuaspadu herbal drink every morning after breakfast for three consecutive days during menstruation. The level of menstrual pain was measured before and after the intervention. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The statistical analysis showed a significant decrease in menstrual pain after consuming Kuaspadu herbal drink, with a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). This indicates that the herbal drink had a positive effect in reducing menstrual pain among the participants. Kuaspadu herbal drink is effective in reducing menstrual pain in female adolescents and can be considered a natural alternative for managing dysmenorrhea.

Abstract

Childbirth is the process of movement of the fetus, placenta and membranes from the uterus through the birth canal. This process starts with the opening and dilatation of the cervix which is caused by uterine contractions with regular frequency, duration and strength. One effort to speed up the birthing process can be done with complementary methods, one of which is the rebozo technique. To determine the effect of the Rebozo technique on the length of the first stage in vaginal delivery at the Eliza Bestari Clinic. This research is a type of Quasi-Expermental research with a One Group Pretest Posttest design. In this design, before the treatment is given, the sample is first given a pretest (initial test) and after the experiment the sample is given a posttest (final test). Based on the results of data analysis, it can be explained that before the rebozo technique was carried out, the majority of primigravida mothers experienced a long duration of the first stage of the slow active phase, namely 18 hours with an SD value of 10.642 and after the rebozo technique was carried out the majority of respondents experienced a long duration of the first stage of the fast active phase, namely 4 hours with an SD value of 4.205. The results of the Wilchoxon test analysis show that the p value is 0.028 (p < α 0.05) which means that there is a significant influence of the Rebozo Technique on the Length of the First Stage in Vaginal Delivery. From the research and discussion that has been carried out, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence of the Rebozo Technique on the Length of the First Stage in Vaginal Delivery at the Eliza Bestari Clinic.
