Abstract

Follow-up Assessment of Principal Performance on the Quality Component of Learning Supervision. This research is driven by findings concerning the inadequate appraisal of school principals in supervising learning, which is urgent in attaining quality learning. This is attributed to teacher professionalism, affecting the quality of graduates' learning experience. The study aimed to investigate the follow-up procedures of school principals in enhancing the standard of learning supervision encompassing administrative documentation and teacher professionalism. The descriptive research with a qualitative methodology was employed to conduct the study. The data sources consisted of observations, interviews, and document analysis. After analysing the collected data through reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions, some of the research findings revealed obstacles related to PKKS, occurring due to virtual supervision. These technical obstacles have an impact on holistic constraints. Follow-up actions included action planning, building communication, and setting new standards.Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh temuan terkait rendahnya penilaian kinerja kepala sekolah dalam komponen supervisi pembelajaran yang sebenarnya memiliki tingkat urgensi yang harus diperhatikan dalam mewujudkan pembelajaran yang berkualitas. Hal ini karena kualitas pembelajaran dipengaruhi oleh profesionalisme guru dan mempengaruhi kualitas lulusan dalam hal pengalaman belajarnya. Maka tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendalami kegiatan tindak lanjut kepala sekolah dalam peningkatan mutu supervisi pembelajaran yang dilakukan, baik dalam pendokumentasian administrasi maupun dalam aspek profesionalisme guru. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Sesuai dengan pengumpulan data yang dilakukan, data dianalisis melalui reduksi, penyajian dan penarikan kesimpulan. Beberapa hasil penelitian yang dipaparkan yaitu kendala yang terjadi terkait temuan PKKS karena pengawasan dilakukan secara virtual sehingga menimbulkan kendala teknis yang berdampak pada kendala holistik. Kegiatan tindak lanjut yang dilakukan adalah melalui perencanaan tindakan, membangun komunikasi, dan menetapkan standar baru.

Abstract

This study discusses the role of school principals as managers in improving the quality of education, principals as leaders in improving the quality of education, supporting and inhibiting factors, as well as solutions to facing inhibiting factors in improving the quality of education. In this study the authors used a qualitative research method, namely a method based on the philosophy of postpositivism, used to examine natural object conditions, where the researcher was the key instrument, purposive sampling of data sources, collection techniques by triangulation (combined), analysis the data are inductive/qualitative in nature and the results of qualitative research emphasize meaning rather than generalization. This type of research is field research and library research. Using primary data and secondary data, qualitative research instruments with data collection techniques Primary data obtained from interviews with SMAS KARTIKA X_1 South Jakarta and filling out questionnaires with the relevant informants are collected and processed in advance to simplify the data. The results of this study are that the principal has a major role in improving the quality of SMA. With a clear vision, effective pedagogical leadership, good resource management, collaboration with stakeholders, coaching and staff development, as well as comprehensive monitoring and evaluation, school principals can bring about significant changes in improving the quality of education at SMA Kartika X-1 Jakarta South.
