Abstract

Vaccines are the most effective way to prevent infectious diseases. Vaccine hesitancy and misinformation present major barriers to achieving community coverage and immunity. Evidence-based health literacy needs to be developed as an effective strategy to encourage vaccine uptake. The aim of the study was to determine the relationship between health literacy and covid-19 vaccination behaviour in the community in Panusupan Village, Rembang Subdistrict, Purbalingga Regency. The research design was a correlation study survey with a cross sectional approach. Sample of this study were residents targeted for covid-19 vaccination in Panusupan Village, Rembang Subdistrict, Purbalingga Regency, 92 respondents using proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Research instrument used the eHealth Literacy Scale During Covid Indonesia Version questionnaire. Data analysis using the spearman-rank. Results showed spearman rank test obtained a p-value of 0.0001 ≤ α (0.05) and rho value: 0.499. The conclusion is that there is a weak relationship with a positive direction between health literacy and covid-19 vaccination behaviour in the community in Panusupan Village, Rembang District, Purbalingga Regency.

Abstract

Background: Post-anesthesia disorders, particularly respiratory conditions related to hypoxia, can rapidly lead to fatal outcomes if not promptly identified and managed. Effective coughing techniques are essential for patients to expel phlegm efficiently. Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of airway clearance in patient post-general anesthesia at RSI Purwokerto after viewing cough instruction videos. Methods: A quasi-experimental design, specifically the Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design, was employed. A total of 52 respondents were selected through purposive sampling. Data on airway clearance were collected using observation sheets. The Mann-Whitney U and Wilcoxon tests were utilized for data analysis. Results: Prior to viewing the instructional videos, the average airway clearance score was 1.03; this improved to 0.42 post-intervention. In the control group, the average score improved from 1.07 to 0.73 after education. The Wilcoxon test results indicated a significant difference in airway clearance before and after the intervention in both the experimental group (p = 0.001, p < 0.05) and the control group (p = 0.003, p < 0.05). Furthermore, the Mann-Whitney U test revealed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups post-intervention (p = 0.026, p < 0.05). Conclusion: The findings demonstrate that viewing cough instruction videos significantly improve airway clearance in patients who have undergone general anesthesia. This intervention is effective in enhancing respiratory outcomes in this patient population at RSI Purwokerto.

Abstract

The patient’s care body temperature below 36°C is usually diagnosed as hypothermia. The human thermoregulatory system maintains metabolic activity by keeping body temperature about 37ºC. Hypothermia is linked to anesthesia and surgery. This study examines the risk factors for hypothermia in spinal anesthesia patients at the Central Surgical Installation of RSI Fatimah Cilacap. Age, gender, BMI, and length are variables. This research method is using a quantitative analytical observational approach with total sampling technique. The results of this study showed that the most dominant age of respondents was adults 25-46 years (45.9%) with mild hypothermia (29.7%). The study also found 59.5% of participants were female and 29.7% had mild or moderate hypothermia. Most respondents (64.9%) had an average BMI 37.8% had mild hypoyhermia. Finally, 56.8% of respondents had 1-2-hour surgery, with 32.4% experiencing mild hypothermia. The conclusion of this study found that Body Mass Index (BMI) is the main risk factor for hypothermia with 64.9% of people having a normal BMI.
