Abstract

Indonesia has quite a lot of scattered wetlands in Sumatra, Borneo, and Papua so that it takes the right technology development to optimize the use of agricultural wetlands for welfare. Tidal wetlands will determine the success of the harvest of food crops, sometimes the tide caused the death of crops due to the amount of water beyond the plant it self or otherwise drought. A technology Radio Frequency Identificationor RFID is one way to monitor water levels in wetlands remotely using radiowaves. This technology is an automate detection system with information technology and communication devices without cables consisting of RFID, reader signal, and a computer. Reader will send signals to RFID to identify or communicate to move the data and will be responded to by the software installed in the computer. The software will immediately respond to convert the data that informed and also to filter or delete data that is not desirable. The data on wetland water level can be monitored as a function of time and recorded in the computer, making it easier to collect these data. These data will be used in planning for the time of planting and crops adapted to the conditions of water throughout the year. It is expected that increase in crop yields in the wetland have ups and downs throughout the year with the availability of accurate data on the water level every season throughout the year

Abstract

The perforated solar collector technology is a highly potential solution to take advantage of renewable energy in tropical countries such as Indonesia. This technology can be applied as a simple technology for drying of agricultural products. This study aims to determine the rate of the decreased moisture content of gaharu leafs. In this study, the perforated solar collector equipped with four ribs was used. The efficiency evaluation of perforated solar collector plate was conducted in Wind Tunnel-Rig, Basic phenomenon Laboratory of Mechanical Engineering Department, Sriwijaya University. The dimension of the plate is 850 mm × 300 mm × 1.5 mm, which has 1018 holes with 2.5 mm in diameter. The results show that the drying rate for achieving the 10% moisture content of the gaharu leafs, can be reached in 2–3 days. This condition occurs when the weather is sunny, or not cloudy and rainy. In other condition, when the sunshine with an average solar irradiation on the surface is greater than or equal 500 W/m2. The efficiency tests of the perforated  aluminum plate solar collector using wind velocity as input parameter show that the blackened plate resulted in better performance (12,83%) than the colorless one in (6,36%).

Abstract

Abstract

The growing demand for autonomous vehicles requires robust control systems that can maintain safety during complex maneuvers like lane changes. However, a significant research gap exists in developing controllers that effectively manage the combined challenges of steering and braking across diverse and unpredictable driving conditions, such as varying speeds and low-friction road surfaces. This research addresses this gap by proposing and evaluating an adaptive model predictive control (MPC) system integrated with a torque braking distribution strategy. The key advantage of our adaptive method is its ability to continuously update its internal model in real-time, allowing it to anticipate and respond to changing road friction and vehicle dynamics more effectively than a static controller. In simulations of a lane change maneuver across speeds of 10-25 m/s and road friction levels from 0.3 (icy) to 1 (dry asphalt), the proposed system demonstrated a substantial performance improvement. The proposed framework demonstrated a 52.8% average reduction in lateral tracking error and enhanced stability by reducing the yaw rate by up to 41.8% on low-friction surfaces, compared to a non-adaptive MPC baseline. These results quantitatively confirm that our framework’s synergistic coordination of steering and braking significantly enhances the safety, precision, and reliability of autonomous lane change maneuvers.
