Abstract

Dysmenorrhea is considered a normal complaint experienced during menstruation. Pain arises due to contractions that occur in the uterus. These contractions function to shed menstrual blood that sticks to the uterine wall. The World Health Organization (WHO) reports globally that the incidence of dysmenorrhea is still very high. The incidence of dysmenorrhea in young women was 16.8-81% in 2018. The results of Riskesdas (2018) showed that the number of dysmenorrhea cases was 64.25%. It is estimated that as many as 90% of women in Indonesia experience menstrual pain, but do not report it to health services. The aim of this activity is to increase the knowledge of SMA Takwa Palembang students about how to deal with complaints of menstrual pain. The results of the activity showed that the average knowledge of young women had increased after the counseling activities, namely 34.8. On average, participants said they experienced menstrual pain on the first day of menstruation with varying duration of pain. It is hoped that young women will practice the knowledge gained in this activity when they feel menstrual pain.

Abstract

Flour albus or vaginal discharge is a problem that often occurs in women. Efforts that can be made to reduce the occurrence of flour albus include pharmacological (drugs from doctors) and non-pharmacological. The use of natural ingredients as herbal medicine is considered safer than the use of modern medicine because the side effects of herbal medicine are relatively small if used correctly. Betel leaves can be used as a cure for flour albus because they have the power to kill germs. The content of betel leaves is usually used in cleaning soap specifically for women. Objective: to determine the effect of green betel leaf decoction in reducing vaginal discharge in women of childbearing age. Method: pre-experimental research design (one-group pre-post test design). The sampling technique used purposive sampling totaling 15 people. Data analysis used the dependent t test to see the effect before (pre test) and after (post test) using boiled green betel leaf water by washing it directly into the vaginal area. Research results: respondents experienced a decrease in the scale of vaginal discharge from itchy to non-itchy, a reduction in the level of turbidity and viscosity. increased breast milk production obtained from the pretest and posttest. The results of the dependent t test showed a Z value of -2.111 and Asymp Sig of 0.004 <0.005. The conclusion of this study states that there is an effect of betel leaf decoction on vaginal discharge in women of childbearing age

Abstract

Anxiety experienced by pregnant women is a common psychological problem and can have a significant negative impact on maternal health and fetal development. This anxiety can be caused by various factors, including physical changes, concerns about the delivery process, and new responsibilities as parents. Therefore, it is important to find effective ways to address this anxiety. One non-pharmacological approach that can be implemented is the use of lemon aromatherapy, which is known to have calming and relaxing properties. This activity aims to increase the knowledge and skills of pregnant women in utilizing lemon aromatherapy as a method to reduce their anxiety. This activity was held in June 2025 at PMB Lismarini, involving 20 pregnant women who actively participated in this program. The method used in this activity included several stages: education on the benefits of aromatherapy, demonstrations on how to use it, hands-on practice using lemon aromatherapy, and evaluation conducted through pre- and post-tests to measure changes in participants' anxiety levels. The results of this activity showed a significant decrease in participants' anxiety levels. Previously, many pregnant women were in the severe and moderate anxiety categories, but after participating in the activity, they shifted to mild anxiety and even no anxiety. Lemon aromatherapy has been proven effective in providing relaxation and reducing emotional tension experienced by pregnant women. Therefore, this activity is expected to become a promotional educational model in maternal health services. Through this approach, it is hoped that pregnant women will better understand and utilize aromatherapy as a way to maintain their mental health during pregnancy. Furthermore, this activity can also provide health workers with insight into the importance of non-pharmacological approaches in supporting the mental health of pregnant women.
