Abstract

ABSTRACT National income is one of the main indicators used to assess a country’s economic condition. However, in the perspective of Islamic economics, national income is not only measured in terms of quantitative growth, but also in terms of justice and societal welfare (falah). This article aims to analyze the concept of national income within the Islamic economic system, emphasizing the integration between economic growth, fair distribution, and the achievement of both material and spiritual well-being. The research method used is qualitative-descriptive through literature review, document analysis, and examination of the thoughts of Islamic economists such as Chapra, Mannan, and Antonio. The results show that national income in Islamic economics must originate from lawful (halal) and productive activities, be distributed fairly through instruments such as zakat, infak, sadaqah, and waqf, and be directed toward improving the overall welfare of society. In conclusion, national income from the perspective of Islamic economics is not merely an indicator of economic growth but also a tool to realize social justice and sustainable prosperity. Keywords: national income, Islamic economics, justice, welfare, income distribution.
