Abstract

This research explores the dynamics of freedom of opinion and expression during the second period of Joko Widodo's presidency using the lens of deliberative democracy according to the thinking of Jurgen Habermas. Through the method of philosophical descriptive hermeneutic analysis of Jurgen Habermas' deliberative democracy, as well as analysing the index of democracy and freedom of opinion and expression in the second period of Joko Widodo's presidency. This research aims to understand the extent to which the principles of deliberative democracy are reflected in government policies and public behaviour. The findings show that in the second term of President Jokowi's administration there was a decline in the democracy index due to the restriction of freedom of expression and opinion by using the ITE Law. This has resulted in people being afraid to express their opinions in public spaces. According to Jurgen Habermas' deliberative democracy in reviewing the second term of President Joko Widodo's administration, Indonesia's democratic governance system lacks inclusiveness, egalitarianism and dynamism in public decision-making, so this is a major obstacle on the way to true deliberative democracy. Therefore, the study concludes by suggesting the need for further reforms in strengthening democratic institutions and culture to enhance meaningful public participation and ensure broader and more inclusive freedom of opinion and expression.

Abstract

Good Education is the goals and aspiration of an independent nation. The role of aducation is one of indicators of the assessment of an advanced nation in producing superior human resources. This research is a philosophical research that discusses the concept of Merdeka Belajar from the perspective of Paulo Freire's philosophy of education. The concept of Merdeka Belajar has become a paradigm in the world of education that emphasizes the independence and freedom of learning of each individual. The concept of Merdeka Belajar has become a hot conversation in the world of education in Indonesia because it makes a new breakthrough in the world of education. The concept of Merdeka Belajar is allegedly a solution to the problem of education in Indonesia. In Indonesia, the learning system still uses a memorization system and bank style. Freire's Philosophy of Education highlights several major problems in the world of education, namely education with the banking system, curriculum design that is still rigid and unsustainable, lack of infrastructure, and teaching methods that are still passive. The learning model makes students not free to be creative in the teaching and learning process. This research is a study that uses qualitative-descriptive research methods, with the data collection technique being a literature study. This research proposes the integration of Merdeka Belajar concept and Freire's liberation education principles, which provide a strong philosophical foundation for the development of an inclusive and liberating education system for each individual. The results of this study are: (1) the importance of increasing students' active participation in learning; (2) Updating the curriculum and education system to be flexible, modern, and essential. (3) the importance of building criticism, dialog, self-reflection, and developing sensitivity to social reality.

Abstract

                                                         Abstrak Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana nilai-nilai filosofis Pela Gandong berperan dalam proses hibridisasi budaya antara masyarakat Maluku dan kelompok-kelompok masyarakat pendatang. Penelitian ini melibatkan analisis terhadap literatur yang berhubungan dengan pandangan hidup Pela Gandong dan teori hibridisasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Pela Gandong, dengan prinsip-prinsip persahabatan, toleransi, dan keseimbangan, telah menjadi fondasi bagi integrasi budaya yang terdiri dari nilai kemanusiaan dan nilai persaudaraan yang mendalam. Ini memungkinkan masyarakat pendatang untuk berbagi tradisi mereka sambil tetap menghormati dan menghargai nilai-nilai lokal yang terkandung pada nilai kemanusiaan yang bersifat fleksibel. Namun, pada nilai persaudaraan mendalam pada kelompok tertentu yang bersifat ekslusif yang bersegmentasi pada kelompok tertentu memungkinkan terjadinya hibridisasi pada nilai ini yang bersifat kaku. Sehingga dampak hibridisasi budaya ini terhadap identitas masyarakat Maluku terdapat pada elemen nilai persaudaraan yang tidak melibatkan masyarakat pendatang yang tergabung dalam kelompok masyarakat tertentu, dan pada nilai kemanusiaan yang bersifat universal terdapat hubungan yang harmonis karna terdapat standar moral kemanusiaan bersama. Abstract

Abstract This article discusses the political communication strategy of the election campaign in Indonesia 2024 using the perspective of Antonio Gramsci's philosophy of language. The focus of this paper is on the role of language in building political hegemony through the communication process. Antonio Gramsci, developed the concept of hegemony to explain how certain groups can hold political and cultural control through ideological domination. In the context of general elections, it can be seen how populist language and populist characterizations through the media become political communication strategies in the 2024 elections. Media as the main instrument in creating and strengthening hegemony. The choice of words, rhetoric and narratives become key elements in the formation of images and views in influencing public perception and building consensus on the ideas and values they espouse. This article also finds that the role of political party machines that use symbols and narratives of party programs has a significant impact. By integrating Gramsci's views on language and hegemony into the analysis of political communication strategies for the 2024 elections, this research seeks to provide insight into the complexity of political dynamics from the perspective of the philosophy of language, which can provide a deeper understanding of the dynamics of the 2024 elections.
