Abstract

Good University Governance (GUG) refers to the principles and practices that ensure universities are managed in a transparent, accountable, and effective manner, with a focus on achieving long-term goals and stakeholder well-being. This systematic literature review aims to explore the literature on GUG in higher education. Using 221 research papers published between 1981 and 2024, from 79 publishers and 166 journals, the study categorizes publication outlets, geographical distribution, research methods (qualitative, quantitative, review, and non-empirical), and theories underlying GUG research. The results show that the number of publications has increased significantly since 2005, with contributions from UK journals dominating. Quantitative methods are the most frequently used approach, followed by qualitative methods, while mixed methods are still rarely applied. The Good University Governance and Governance theories are the most widely used theories, reflecting their relevance in understanding good university governance. However, there is a gap in the use of other theories such as risk management and university performance, which are still underutilized in this study. This study makes a practical contribution by offering guidance for university policymakers to adopt good governance principles and a theoretical contribution by identifying research gaps for future studies. Abstract

Abstract

Traditional central markets still have poor sanitation. There is a lot of litter, such as vegetable scraps, plastic waste, and dirty puddles. Therefore, fly control is expected to encourage traders to change their behavior in terms of fly control. With this behavior, traders will be able to prevent diseases transmitted by flies. This study aims to determine the effect of vendor behavior on fly control. The type of research used is analytical observational research with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were traditional market vendors in Bantaeng Regency. The sample consisted of 46 respondents, and the data were processed using statistical analysis with a chi-square test. The results of the study based on the chi-square test showed a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that there is an influence of knowledge on fly control in the traditional market of Bantaeng District. There is also an influence of attitude on fly control in the traditional market of Bantaeng District with a p-value of 0.006 < 0.05. There is also an influence of actions on fly control in the Traditional Market of Bantaeng District with a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05. It can be concluded that there is an influence of knowledge, attitudes, and actions on fly control. It is hoped that market managers will collaborate with health officials to provide education and guidance to vendors on the importance of maintaining environmental health.

Abstract

This study analyzes the financial sustainability of State Universities with Legal Entity or in Indonesia called PTN BH  through case studies of two institutions with differing income profiles. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis. Thematic analysis identified three main challenges: government funding cuts, limited flexibility in fiscal regulations, and constrained human resource capacity and institutional culture. Four key strategies were also identified, namely diversification, development of business units, non-degree education, and digitalization. Findings indicate that state universities with legal entity funding cuts forced University ABC to rely on internal cash reserves, while University XYZ accelerated the establishment of university-owned enterprises. University ABC was more prepared in managing non-state funds and implementing risk-based governance, whereas University XYZ continued to face challenges in integrating commercial and academic functions. While University ABC had developed a medium-term strategic approach centered on industrial partnerships, University XYZ was only beginning institutional reforms toward a more autonomous financial system. Based on this analysis, it is concluded that the financial sustainability of PTN-BH is not yet fully secured. University ABC appears to be institutionally and financially more stable, while the sustainability of University XYZ remains in a transitional phase and faces greater structural risks.
