Abstract

Approach on the study of rural service development is often confused with general regional development study in which both development indicators are interchanged. However the two study are closely related and able to contribute one to another. A confusion also exist in the setting up of the concepts of social services, economic services, and infrastructures functions. As such, the study of service development should have a great care of the study implication in  which sectoral action planning should follow up. This article tries to present an operational approach on the rural service development with an ilustrative case study of Yogyakarta Special Region.

Abstract

This study is carried out in Delanggu, Klaten, that has high productivity of rice but undergoing a decrease in the role of the sector of agriculture. The goal of this study is to observe young people departicipation in the sector od agriculture and fators that influence it. The method used is survey method. The population is all of the young people in Delanggu, 1.419 peoples. The sampling uses stratified proporsional quota sampling where respondents are divided into three groups of age, 15-19 years old, 20-24 years old, and 25-29 years old. Every sampling in eah group is taken 5% proportionally, with its homogenates consideration, while the characteristic, which has determined in order to fulfil the number of determined quota in each age group. Collected data is presented in the form of frequency and cross table. Qualitative data analysis uses logical thought, deducyive-inductive, analogy ang comparison, whereas analyzing frequency and cross table uses quantitative data analysis. The use of both analysis is adjusted to the data and goal of the study.

Abstract

Creative economy remains a critical issue for developing countries, including Indonesia. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) show that the world agreed to boost the economy around the world. Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) creative industries are expected to compete in the global era, yet weak in the synergy between stakeholders. Previous researches have produced a map of the distribution of the creative economy in Sukoharjo Regency. Empirical and literature studies consist of three sections. First, it presents the potential creative economy of Sukoharjo Regency. Second, it discusses the various regulations, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the creative economy. Third, it presents various empirical studies about the creative economy. Literature study method was analyzed using content analysis to generate pre-analysis strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the creative economy. The results of this study show that the creative economy in Sukoharjo Regency is potential for increasing the Gross Domestic Product of Regions. Besides, the study found local government regulations and identification of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges of creative economy in Sukoharjo Regency. In addition, the empirical study of strategies for improving the creative economy was also found. The results of this study need to be optimized to recommend a spotlight on the creative economy towards superior product.

Abstract

Sektor perkebunan dan pertanian patut menjadi perhatian di Indonesia. Terutama kaitannya dalam mendukung salah satu tujuan pembangunan berkelanjutan yakni untuk mengakhiri kelaparan (zero hunger). Salah satu jenis Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) di Indonesia adalah SMK yang berbasis pertanian. Di sisi lain, ilmu geografi dan khususnya penginderaan jauh diketahui dapat diaplikasikan untuk kajian perkebunan dan pertanian. Untuk itu, dalam rangka memberikan gambaran kepada siswa tentang ilmu geografi dan penginderaan jauh serta aplikasinya untuk aspek perkebunan dan pertanian, maka kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan. Sasaran peserta kali ini adalah siswa- siswi SMK Mojosongo di Kabupaten Boyolali. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui penyampaian materi dan diskusi. Diketahui peserta memberikan kesan positif terhadap kegiatan yang dilaksanakan. Diharapkan dengan kegiatan pengabdian ini, siswa dapat mengenal pendekatan ilmu geografi dan mengetahui penggunaan penginderaan jauh untuk kajian perkebunan dan pertanian.
