Abstract

This research investigates school management practices in implementing inclusive education in state elementary schools in Banda Aceh City. Using a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design, the study involved ten subjects: 1 Head of the Elementary School Department of Education and Culture, three principals, three class teachers, and three subject teachers from SD Negeri 1, SD Negeri 24, and SD Negeri 32 in Banda Aceh City. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation and analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis with data reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The research findings are as follows: 1) Planning for inclusive education in Banda Aceh City public elementary schools needs clear program steps; 2) Implementation of inclusive education has been carried out well, but guidelines are not thoroughly followed due to insufficient resources and program planning; 3) Supervision by principals occurs every three months but is not optimal due to a lack of specific monitoring for inclusive education programs; 4) Evaluation of learning by teachers is periodic but does not align with the principles and criteria for inclusive education assessment; 5) Obstacles include a lack of teacher knowledge about inclusive education, limited school resources, a lack of a specific budget, and insufficient parental understanding in handling children with special needs

Abstract

Computer Numerical Control (CNC) laser cutting as a manufacturing tool for plate cutting, where industrial players are encouraged to get maximum results. Laser cutting is one of the tools used by the industrial world to maximize cutting results. The aim of this research is to determine the results of differences using cutting speed parameters on SS400 steel plate with a thickness of 1 mm using CNC fiber laser cutting on the surface roughness of the material. The method used in this research is a real experimental research method and data analysis to analyze the parameters of cutting plates using laser cutting on surface roughness with the number of experiments being replicated 2 times for the research process by testing surface roughness using Surface Roughness.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to verify that the dimensions of a weld neck flange conform to ASME B16.5 standards. The flange used is a raised face type made of carbon steel ASTM A105N with 16-inch NPS, selected for its corrosion resistance, and welded with UNS 006625, a nickel-rich alloy that enhances corrosion protection. Dimensional checks were performed on five samples, each measured three times, using both visual inspection and measuring tools, including a roughness comparator and vernier caliper. Key dimensions measured include outside diameter (705 mm, tolerance +4 mm/-1 mm), inside diameter (333.3 mm, ±1.5 mm), bolt circle diameter (616 mm, ±1.5 mm), flange thickness (88.90 mm, +3 mm), and hub thickness (30.43 mm post-welding, with tolerance not less than 12.5% of pipe wall thickness) the visual inspection assessed surface roughness within the acceptable range of 3.2 µm to 6.3 µm. The inspection results showed that all measured dimensions were within the permissible limits, confirming that the weld neck flange meets the requirements of ASME B16.5.

Abstract

Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) is widely used in fabrication due to its efficiency and weld quality. This study examined the influence of welding sequence on distortion in 316 stainless steel fillet joints using the GMAW-pulsed process. Two techniques—back-step welding and string welding—were applied without strongbacks on 50 mm × 50 mm × 5 mm specimens, with 3–5 seconds between passes. Distortion was measured using a trigonometric calculation based on displacement. Results show that back-step welding consistently reduced angular distortion compared to string welding. For vertical plates, back-step yielded 14.53°, 13.59°, and 14.30°, versus 15.42°, 14.07°, and 14.76° for string welding. For horizontal plates, values were –3.93 mm, 4.12 mm, and –6.20 mm for back-step, compared to –10.15 mm, 1.91 mm, and –8.20 mm for string welding. Reduced distortion is attributed to intermittent bead placement, which limits heat accumulation and residual stress. These findings highlight the importance of sequence selection in minimizing distortion, particularly in precision-demanding sectors such as marine and automotive fabrication, and support the inclusion of back-step welding in welder training programs.
