Abstract

This paper discusses patriotism in the context of the millennial era through an analysis of the interpretation of Marāh Labīd by Syekh Nawāwī Al-Bantenī. This research explores Al-Bantenī’s views on the values of patriotism and how these views are relevant in the millennial era implied in his commentary. The textual analysis method is used to identify Al-Bantenī’s views on love for the motherland, obligations to the state, and participation in community development. The results of this study provide insight that according to Al-Bantenī, patriotism in the Qur’an is at least implied in QS. Al-Taubah [9]: 71, QS. Al-Baqarah [2]: 126, QS. Al-Nisā’: [4]:59, and QS. Al-Maidah [5]:2. Sheikh Nawāwī Al-Bantenī's interpretation of the five characteristics of patriotism above is still relevant in the millennial era. Considering that the millennial generation is the generation of hope for the nation. They are expected to become leaders and provide better change for the nation in the future. Abstract

Indonesia is a pluralistic and tolerant country with the largest Muslim population in the world. Various ethnicities, cultures, and religions thrive in Indonesia. This diversity is, on the one hand, a noble value, but on the other hand, it has led to conflicts among fellow citizens due to the misuse of the true meaning of tolerance. Therefore, it is crucial to have an understanding of the concept of tolerance along with its rules to create a harmonious and respectful coexistence among religious communities in Indonesia. This research was conducted to find out the meaning of tolerance according to Indonesian ulama who are active in crucial activities for religious relations in Indonesia by referring to the QS. Data collection is based on documentation techniques, where primary data is sourced from the Qur’an and the book “Tafsir Al-Qur’an Juz XXVIII Juz Qad Sami’ Allah Bun-Yanun Marshush” (A Solid Building). Secondary data is drawn from various relevant tafsir books, publications, and journals related to the subject, which are then comprehensively studied. In conclusion, this research finds that: 1) Allah does not prohibit Muslims from aiding non-Muslims with the condition that they do not act hostile towards and expel Muslims from their homeland, and 2) the prohibition forming friendships with those who assist non-Muslims in their hostility against Muslims, with a clear distinction between right and wrong

Abstract

Sleep is a biological need for humans, but excessive sleep will hurt the balance of the brain, so that you will experience headaches and back pain. The Qur’an states that Ashabul Kahf sleeps long and is conscious and healthy. This is in contrast, considering that humans are generally only able to survive with a time limit of 7-8 hours each day. This study aims to understand the continuity of the Qur’an and science regarding the phenomenon of Ashabul Kahf's sleep in the Qur'an in QS. Al-Kahf verses 11, 18 and 19. If measured from habits, sleeping with a long intensity will cause many diseases, but it differs from Ashabul Kahf, who has slept for 309 years and is awake in good health. This study uses a library research study with a descriptive analysis method and uses the maudhu’i (thematic) method in interpreting verses of the Qur’an. Finally, this research concludes that 1) in verse 11, Allah closes Ashabul Kahf's ears by deactivating the ascending reticular activating system so that Ashabul Kahfi does not hear any sound from outside, 2) in verse 17, Allah removes sunlight from Ashabul Kahfi's body, and Allah also does not cover the sun completely, because excessive exposure to sunlight will cause sunburn and damage the genetic material in Cancer Research UK skin cells, and 3) in verse 18 Allah turns Ashabul Kahf’s body back and forth, because turning the body back and forth can keep the skin so that undamaged by the ground Tidur menjadi kebutuhan biologis manusia, akan tetapi tidur secara berlebihan akan berdampak buruk kepada keseimbangan otak, sehingga akan mengalami sakit kepala dan nyeri punggung.
