Abstract

Introduction: Coronaviruses (CoVs) are single-stranded positive-sense RNA viruses, which can trigger cardiovascular disease. Inflammation caused by SARS-CoV-2 can affect atherosclerotic plaques, induced prothrombotic changes in the blood and endothelium and caused their instability and myocardial infarction. Several prospective studies have demonstrated an association between increased baseline D-dimer levels and the risk of subsequent cardiovascular events. Several studied had showed the relationship of D-dimer value to mortality in COVID-19 patients with acute coronary syndrome at H. Adam Malik Hospital Medan. Method: This study was a descriptive analytic study using medical record data from central installation patients at H. Adam Malik Hospital in the period August 2020 to August 2021. The sample was calculated using the Lemeshow formula. Then the distribution test was carried out using Shapiro Wilk test. Inferential statistical analysis was performed to assess the relationship of D-dimer to mortality in COVID-19 patients with acute coronary syndrome at H. Adam Malik Hospital Medan using chi-square test. If chi-square criteria were not met, the inferential statistical analysis used was Fisher's exact or other alternative tests. The results were statistically significant if the p value <0.05. Results: 70 subjects participated in the study and the average age of the research subjects was 58.2 years, majority were male. Most subjects experienced severe COVID-19; ECG found ST elevation and comorbid factors were mostly hypertension followed by hypertension and diabetes type 2. There was a relationship between D-dimer value and mortality in COVID-19 patients with acute coronary syndrome, with p value = 0.005. Conclusion: D-dimer values was associated with mortality in COVID-19 patients with acute coronary syndrome.

Abstract

Pulmonary TB is ranked as the 10th largest disease in all Pematang Siantar city health centers with a total of 546,324 cases (57.8%).The Kartini Health Center in Pematang Siantar City in 2019 there were 13 people with pulmonary TB, in 2020 there were 15 people, while in 2021 there were 28 people and an increase in 2022 for the October period as many as 49 people.The purpose of this study was to analyze the determinants of potential prevention of pulmonary TB transmission in families.The type of research used is analytic quantitative with a cross sectional design, the number of samples is 44 people.Data collection using a questionnaire.Data analysis used univariate analysis and bivariate analysis with the Chi-Square test.The results showed that the knowledge of pulmonary TB sufferers was in the good category by 50.0%, the attitude was in the good category by 54.5%, the ventilation category was eligible by 52.3%, the coaching of health workers was in the good category by 52.3%, the family support was in the good category by68.2%, prevention of the potential transmission of pulmonary TB in the family is 59.1%.The head of the Puskesmas should carry out socialization or counseling regarding efforts to prevent and control pulmonary TB disease, especially for those around TB patients by involving health cadres, RT, RW, religious leaders, and youth organizations.

Abstract

Background: Excessive computer use can lead to eye fatigue or Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) due to prolonged screen exposure, non-ergonomic viewing distances, and substandard lighting conditions. This condition can reduce comfort and work productivity. Objective: To determine the relationship between computer usage duration, viewing distance, and workspace lighting with eye fatigue among computer users. Methods: A literature review of five national research articles published between 2023–2025, employing a cross-sectional design and analyzing the relationship between ergonomic factors and eye fatigue. Results: Four out of five articles showed a significant association between computer usage duration and eye fatigue (p < 0.05). Viewing distance and lighting were also influential factors, although results varied across studies. Conclusion: Eye fatigue among computer users is closely related to work habits and non-ergonomic environmental conditions.
