Abstract

Employee performance is very necessary in working within the company, the importance of an employee's performance can affect the results of the work he does and also affect the goals of the company to be achieved. This study aims to analyze the effect of competence and rewards on the effectiveness of employee performance. The form of research used in this research is quantitative research with an approach. The research method used in this research is a quantitative research method with an association approach, the population in this study are PTPN III Medan HR employees with a total of 35 respondents, The primary data used was obtained by distributing questionnaires directly while the secondary data was obtained through a literature study. The data analysis method used is instrument test, classical assumption test, multiple linear regression analysis, and hypothesis testing. The results showed that competency and reward had an effect on Employee Performance Effectiveness and the results of hypothesis testing simultaneously, obtained correlation coefficient values (R) of .888, which means that there is a relationship between Competency and Reward variables on Performance Effectiveness of 88.8% so that the relationship between these variables can be categorized as very close. While the Adjusted R Square value is .775 or the value of the determinant coefficient shows that the Competency and Reward variables on Performance Effectiveness are 77.5%, while the remaining 22.5% is influenced by other factors in outside of this research.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the direction and strength of the relationship between social media use and academic procrastination among seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 27 Medan, while also providing an empirical foundation for the development of school-based guidance and counseling services. The research employed a quantitative approach using a correlational design. The sample consisted of 133 seventh-grade students selected through a convenience sampling technique from a single school population. Research instruments included a social media use scale and an academic procrastination scale, both of which fulfilled established validity and reliability requirements. Data analysis was conducted using the Pearson Product Moment correlation technique. The results indicated a correlation coefficient of r = 0.483 with a significance value of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05), demonstrating a positive and statistically significant relationship between social media use and academic procrastination. The coefficient of determination showed that social media use contributed 1.7% to students’ academic procrastination, while the remaining 98.3% was influenced by other factors not examined in this study. Although the contribution was relatively small, social media use can still be considered a potential risk factor. _____________________________________________________________Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis arah dan kekuatan hubungan antara penggunaan media sosial dan prokrastinasi akademik pada siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 27 Medan serta memberikan dasar empiris bagi pengembangan layanan Bimbingan dan Konseling di sekolah. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 133 siswa kelas VII yang dipilih melalui teknik convenience sampling pada satu sekolah. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa skala penggunaan media sosial dan skala prokrastinasi akademik yang telah memenuhi uji validitas dan reliabilitas. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan korelasi Pearson Product Moment. Hasil analisis menunjukkan koefisien korelasi sebesar r = 0,483 dengan nilai signifikansi p = 0,000 (p < 0,05) yang menandakan adanya hubungan positif dan signifikan antara penggunaan media sosial dan prokrastinasi akademik siswa. Koefisien determinasi menunjukkan nilai R² sebesar 0,017, artinya penggunaan media sosial memberikan kontribusi sebesar 1,7% terhadap prokrastinasi akademik, sedangkan 98,3% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain di luar penelitian. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa meskipun kontribusinya relatif kecil, penggunaan media sosial tetap menjadi faktor risiko yang perlu diperhatikan. Secara praktis, hasil penelitian ini berimplikasi pada pentingnya layanan Bimbingan dan Konseling yang bersifat preventif dan pengembangan, melalui layanan informasi, bimbingan klasikal, serta konseling
