Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of knowledge of school residents, school policies, school community preparedness planning, and mobilization of school resources in the process of implementing the school disaster preparedness program. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 35 Kerinci, Kayu Aro Barat District, Kerinci Regency, Jambi Province. Data collection techniques used are tests, interviews, questionnaires, observation, and documentation. Technical analysis of data using quantitative descriptive. The results showed, 1) the level of knowledge of the school community about disasters in dealing with the eruption of Mount Merapi was very good, 2) school policies that supported the disaster preparedness school program were considered poor with 40% of the sub-variables fulfilled, 3) school community preparedness planning in efforts to reduce and deal with the risk of Mount Merapi eruption including well with sub-variables fulfilled 88.89% and 4) mobilization of school resources in efforts to reduce disaster risk of Mount Merapi eruption including well with sub-variables fulfilled 85.71%.

Abstract

The background of this research is the lack of active learning in class XE in geography subject at SMA Negeri 2 Solok. The purpose of this study was to find out and analyze the increase in the activeness of learning geography of students using the problem based learning (PBL) model for class X SMA Negeri 2 Solok. This type of research is quasi-experimental using a quantitative approach. The population in this study was class XE with a total of 391 people, with a random sampling technique in which the selected class was X E5 with a total of 36 people as the experimental class and X E11 with a total of 36 people as the control class. The research instrument uses a questionnaire and for data analysis uses a different test (t test). The results showed that the application of the problem-based learning model could increase the activeness of learning geography with a sig value of 0.004 <0.05. Furthermore, there is a difference in post-test scores with a sig of 0.000 <0.005.

Abstract

This research is based on the problems in Apar Village which are the background to the destruction of Mangrove Forests caused by two factors, namely natural factors and human factors. The aim of this research is to analyze and describe 1). Efforts to protect mangrove forests in Apar Village 2). Efforts to preserve mangrove forests in Apar Village 3) Mangrove forests as a balancer for the ecosystem in Apar Village. The type of research used is "mixed methods" research, namely describing and analyzing community participation related to mangrove forest conservation as an ecosystem balancer in Apar Village, Pariaman City. The research was conducted and carried out in Apar Village, Pariaman City. Sample collection techniques are Proportional Random Sampling, according to Observation Data Collection techniques, Questionnaires, Interviews and data analysis techniques used. Descriptive Analysis and Qualitative Analysis (Data Reduction, Data Presentation and Conclusion Drawing The research results were obtained: 1) Efforts to protect mangrove forests in Apar Village, Pariaman City with a percentage value of 74.2% in the "Good" category and seen based on indicators including Ecology with a percentage of 81.7% in the Good Category, Economics with a percentage of 62.7 and social indicators. 78.1 Good category 2) Efforts to preserve mangrove forests in Apar Village. Based on the fact that the percentage of mangrove forest conservation efforts in Pariaman City is 85.14 in the "Very good" category and seen based on indicators including planting participation with a percentage of 75% in the Good Category, Forest Utilization Participation with a percentage of 72% in the Good Category and Indicators of Participation in outreach and training activities with percentage 67% Good Category 3) Mangrove Forests act as a balancer for the ecosystem in Apar Village, including tourist attractions, absorbing carbon dioxide, maintaining climate and weather, a source of animal feed, and a source of community livelihood.
