Abstract

Fotografi konseptual merupakan jenis fotografi dengan merancang dan mengkonsep sebuah ide dan pemikiran serta menuangkannya dalam karya fotografi. Umumnya, fotografi konseptual digunakan pada fotografi periklanan, still life, dan sebagainya. Pituah adalah salah satu sastra lisan Minangkabau yang pola bertutur katanya menyampaikan pesan atau maksud dengan bahasa kiasan. Pengkarya tertarik mengangkat pituah Minangkabau sebagai ide penciptaan karya ke dalam fotografi konseptual karena pituah adat Minang merupakan salah satu pituah yang di ajarkan oleh orang yang lebih tua dan diwariskan kepada orang yang lebih muda sebagai pedoman hidup, oleh karena itu pengkarya mengangkat pituah Minang agar banyak anak muda zaman sekarang lebih mengenal pituah atau pepatah Minang. Metode yang digunakan untuk pengumpulan data lainnya seperti observasi, studi pustaka, storyboard. Pada hasil karya pegkarya menampilkan 20 karya dan uraian penjelasan, semua karya foto yang ditampilkan merupakan hasil pemotretan dan semua merujuk pada fotografi konseptual.

Abstract

West Sumatra is one of the provinces in the Indonesian region which is famous for its natural beauty, especially natural tourism in Minangkabau which consists of Luhak Nan Tigo, namely Tanah Datar, Luhak Agam, and Luhak Limo Puluah Koto. Luhak Nan Tigo has a natural environment that is still pristine, has many beautiful and interesting tourist attractions through a photographic perspective that will be packaged through nature photography. Through the creation of nature photography works, the artist will display tourist attractions in Luhak Nan Tigo with several categories such as landscape, seascape, skyscape, and cityscape. The artist also uses several angles, namely, low angle, eye level, high angle or aerial. The resulting works amount to 20 photo works. The artist carried out several data collection methods such as literature studies, observations, and interviews, designing the work process, the embodiment of tools and materials in realizing the idea of creation. Through this nature photography, the artist can capture the natural beauty in Luhak Nan Tigo, by capturing the shape and characteristics of the tourist attraction. On the other hand, the creator also wants to make this work as an innovation in nature photography in Luhak Nan Tigo, and it can also be an archive of a tourist attraction in Luhak Nan Tigo over time if it is not managed properly anymore.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the richness of typical southern coastal Indonesian food through the medium of food photography as a form of cultural preservation and touristm promotion. Typical southern coastal foods such as putu kambang, mangkuak badeta, sangko cake, grilled sagun bakar, sapik cake, lokan satay lokan rendang and palai bada in this work, the aurtor uses a visual approach through food photography to highlight the uniqueness of southern coastal food in terms of appearance, color, texture, and presentation. The creative process involves field research to the southern coastal area, interviews with local culinary actors, and photo shoots that emphasize natural lighting and aesthetic composition in order to arouse the appetite and display the culinary identity. The result of the study show that food photography is effective as a visual archiving medium as well as a local culinary promotion strategy. Through attractive visualization, typical southern coastal foods can be introduced more widely and appreciated as a part of the regional cultural heritage. This work is expected to encourage the preservation of local culinary and increase the appeal of culinary tourism on the southern coast. Most of the techniques used by the author in the process of taking eve angle and flat lay angle. In working on this work, the author has conducted exploration, preparation, and design. The process of creating this final assignment went thourgh several stages including preparation, realization, and selection of works. The author carried out an editing process to perfect this final assignment. The works numbered 20 with 24 photos that had been selected by the supervisor.
